City Passed Once Again by All-Star Weekend

Well, here we are approaching another all-star weekend. Every year around this time I have to wonder... Why is it that the Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis, with what is widely considered one of the best basketball arenas in the world, continually gets passed by to hold the NBA All-Star Game? It's been nearly 35 years since the city has hosted one; Hoosier Dome in 1985, I think. Since the Fieldhouse opened, it's been held in LA twice, Houston twice and New Orleans twice, as well as in craptastic places like Oracle Arena in Oakland. How is it determined where the all-star game will be? Seems like a bit of a slight. We are certainly overdue. I never hear anybody talk about this.
