I have read a little on this subject and want to get real Pacer's fans thoughts on the subject. I feel that Indy should definitely acquire Bynum and for three common sense reasons. I will lay them out, with out any stats at to back them up. Just perspective from a life long Pacer's fan who has seen 98% of their games since as far as I can remember.
1) If we do, the Heat don't. Simple and yet probably the most important reason.
2) Bynum, if motivated and healthy, can be a force. Especially against team's second units. He did play defense quite well a couple years back.
3) No real risks involved. Sign him to a one year deal. If he plays to his potential, who can beat Indy this year, nobody. If he is a dumpster fire, we cut him loose at the end of the year. We still have the same money to resign Sir Lancelot and no harm done.
To me it seems like a complete no-brainer. We have veteran leadership and great chemistry, and of course Larry Legend is always there in the background to help keep Bynum's head right. Many will say "why mess with a good thing" but, how many times have we seen a great regular season team sputter in the playoffs? So, let me hear it!
