Well what do you know? The Pacers draft yet another forward. Can someone tell me why this team hasn't drafted a PG since Jamaal Tinsley? I didn't think so. With that said now we can move on to free agency with hopes that "Larry Legend" can improve the dismal bench from last year. Gone are Hansbrough and possibly DJ Augustine. Enter FA possible candidates:
The two who should be considered as prime real-estate are Robinson and Landry. Robinson would give this team the veteran PG presence off the bench this team sorely needs while Landry would be a definite upgrade over Hansbrough. I don't know the logistics as far as money is concerned in getting them here, but at the very least they should be priority over any other options out there not named "Chris Paul" or "Josh Smith." We don't need Kyle Korver or Jose Calderon. OJ Mayo would be another intriguing piece if the team doesn't figure this year's 1st round draft Solomon Hill into the mix as Mayo offers options at both the 2 and the 3. I know the Pacers don't have much to work with in terms of spending, but losing Hansbrough as well as finding a possible suitor for Gerald Green's services should free up some cap space if Bird can work some magic. Keeping my fingers crossed.
