Pacers vs. Heat Links: Pacers ready for Game 5 as Game 4 floppers fined

Joe Robbins

While the Pacers and Heat prepare for a pivotal game Game 5 in Miami, the NBA stepped in and handed down a few flopping fines.

The Indiana Pacers are back in Miami for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Heat. Since the Game 5 winner of a 2-2 NBA series ends up winning the series more than 80% of the time, it is safe to say this is a big game.

Now a best of three series, the intensity and required attention to detail and execution are about to go up a few notches. So will the search to find an edge, which to this point has involved a lot of theatrics on the floor. The NBA levied a few fines for flopping in Game 4 with Lance Stephenson losing $5,000 for his attempt to lure a foul on Ray Allen. While LeBron James and David West were hit with the same fine for their classic double-flop in the paint.

West also had a foul on Dwyane Wade upgraded to a Flagrant 1 which gives him 2 points for the post-season. If a player exceeds three points he is suspended for a game, so a Flagrant 2 would or two more Flagrant 1s will put West in jeopardy of missing a game, you know, likely in the NBA Finals.

What? Let's go!
