The Indiana Pacers have let terrible execution to close quarters squander an otherwise tremendous effort in Game 2 against the Miami Heat. The Heat closed the half on a 7-0 run that not only erased a 13-point lead, but kept the Heat from losing the second quarter. Indiana needs a little extra hustle late, as they're trailing 10-0 in the final minute of quarters because of it. Indiana had just come off a 16-3 run to break a tie and go up big, shooting nearly 55% along the way.
Despite that, Indiana has continued to attack the Heat directly, outscoring Miami in the paint 20-14 and winning the rebounding battle by five. The Pacers have had 21 free throw attempts, hitting 18. Roy Hibbert has a huge first half, scoring 19 points with David West pitching in 10. George Hill has returned to form, scoring nine points on 4-5 shooting with Paul George scoring eight. For Miami, LeBron James is the only double digit scorer with 15, dishing an assist on the final play of the half.
