Pacers vs. Knicks Links: Paul George makes NBA All-Defenive Second Team, Hibbert left off

Joe Robbins

Obviously the All-Defensive team voting was finished before the playoffs which turns some of the results into a bit of comedy.

The NBA All-Defensive first and second teams were announced on Monday afternoon with Paul George earning second team honors as the only representative from the league's best defense.

The teams are voted on by the coaches unlike the Defensive Player of the Year award which the media selects. That explains how Marc Gasol, the current DPOY was chosen as the second team center. Great, you think. That mus mean Roy Hibbert is the first team center. Yeah, right.

In a timely bit of comedy, Tyson Chandler and Joakim Noah tied for first team center with Hibbert just receiving a handful of votes, including two first place votes. But those are regular season awards, so fortunately Hibbert is far out-playing Chandler in their current matchup in the playoffs which is the only things that matters now.

Here are the results which also have George Hill and David West receiving at least one vote.

FIRST TEAM

LeBron James, Miami -- 25 first -- 3 second -- 52 points

Serge Ibaka, Oklahoma City -- 17 -- 12 -- 46
