To Get to Two

In order for the Indiana Pacers to reach and hold the second seed in the Eastern Conference playoff bracket, the following must occur:

1. Indiana must win out

2. New York must lose twice (once to Indiana and once to either Cleveland, Charlotte, or Atlanta).

New York has a rather soft schedule to end the season (with the exception of the game against the Pacers) so it is highly unlikely that Indiana can count on two more New York losses.

The real question then: is Indiana better off as the second or third seed?
