The Indiana Pacers host the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night with both teams feeling pretty good about themselves as they head into the stretch run of the NBA regular season.
The Pacers have won two in a row and seven of their last eight games while claiming second place in the Eastern Conference standings. The effort to fortify their rotation by adding Danny Granger back into the mix has hit a snag with Granger expected to miss a week to tend to soreness in his left knee. Fortunately, MRI results didn't show any further damage to the knee, but the situation raises the realistic concern that Granger won't be able to give the Pacers a boost come playoff time.
As for the Celtics, they have adjusted nicely to life without their injured star, Rajon Rondo. After beating Philly on Tuesday night, the C's are 12-4 without Rondo. Boston survived in Philly despite giving up 19 offensive rebounds and turning the ball over 22 times.
The Pacers have had their own issues with turnovers of late (Paul George has 26 turnovers alone in the last six games), so protecting the ball and hitting the glass will be two keys for the Pacers.
