The Indiana Pacers tip off a back-to-back-to-back, four games in four days blitz through the end of the week when they host the Chicago Bulls on Monday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Future fatigue won't be a factor for the Pacers tonight as they try to catch the Bulls in the Central Division with their 14th consecutive win at home.
The Pacers beat the Bulls on the road in a game that marked a turning point in the season for the blue and gold thus far. The Pacers won the game 80-76 but far more significant was the game Paul George posted as a response to logging a goose egg in the prior game against Golden State (The Golden State Goose Egg?).
PG used the long flight home from the Bay Area to re-evaluate his approach to preparing for games and resolved to improve his pre-game workouts. The results were immediate and to this point, lasting. PG lit up the United Center for 34 points and has played at an All-Star level ever since, averaging 19.6 points per game. Also, the Pacers went into that game at the UC with an 8-9 record but have played at a 20-10 clip since.
The Bulls may not have been expecting such big things from George in their last meeting, but they will be ready for him tonight. That sets up an All-Star matchup on the wing between George and Luol Deng which should add a tasty subplot to the game tonight. As for the other key players for Chicago, Kirk Hinrich and Joakim Noah aren't expected to play (Hinrich for sure) and Carolos Boozer is a maybe looking to give it a go.
