NBA Power Rankings: Pacers jump after dominating week

USA TODAY Sports

Indiana's 3-0 blowout week coupled with Danny Granger's return moves Indiana up in various power rankings.

Winning games by 34, 32, and 18 is one way to wake up national writers, especially when one is against the former darling New York Knicks, who many believe are fading out like a bad 80's song. The level of dominance the Pacers showed in those wins, fresh off of Paul George's play in the All-Star Game, overshadowed the competition, shooting the Pacers up Power Ranking boards to make them a fixture in the top five (or six).

It's a big jump from where the Pacers were early this year, and not only that, but the Pacers saw the return of Danny Granger Saturday night against the Pistons. While he wasn't much to look at, a slightly better game against the Wariors does lend credence to the thought that he could be a lethal acquisition for Indiana as they head into the stretch run and get ready to make a playoff push as the Eastern Conference's second seed.
