It's not about the game.

There's nothing technical worth breaking down for the actual NBA All-Star game on Sunday night in Houston. The hope is that the game remains close and then the competitive juices of the best players on the planet start flowing for a fun finish once personal pride is in play.

What the All-Star game does is celebrate the process, the hard work and the talent that players combine to play at an All-Star level. This fact always makes the game anticlimactic as far as a competition. But it remains fun to watch the best players gather as new young players join the ranks.

That's where Paul George comes in. George will likely play a few minutes off the bench in each half, although Carmelo Anthony's arm injury may free up a few more minutes. Regardless, PG probably won't be making a run at MVP honors but he will be running around as one of the elite players in the NBA...at 22 years of age...in a Pacers uniform.

Yep, that's what will make the All-Star game so enjoyable tonight.
