The Pacers begin another interesting week of games at the Fieldhouse on Monday against the Detroit Pistons. That's followed by a trip to Miami and then a return home to face Houston. If all goes well, Danny Granger will join the team to play the Rockets. I spoke about all of the above on The Phil Naessens Show.
This time it appears everyone is reading off of the same copy.
The Pacers, Frank Vogel, Larry Bird AND Danny Granger all expect 33 to be available to play against the Houston Rockets on Friday. Last week around this time, Granger surprised his superiors in the organization by proclaiming himself fit to play with a target return date of last Friday.
Larry Bird and Frank Vogel weren't ready to bless that decision and by Thursday Granger "decided" his game rhythm wasn't good enough and he needed more practice time. Now three days later, Vogel volunteered the info that they are targeting a return on Friday against the Rockets which Granger confirmed after making sure Vogel already mentioned it.
As always, Granger's return dates are day-to-day, so check back on Friday around 6:45 p.m. for the final confirmation.
The Pacers return to actions sans Granger on Monday night against the Pistons who arrive for the second game of a back-to-back after falling in OT to the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.
Check out my latest appearance on The Phil Naessens Show where we discuss the week that was and the week ahead along with Danny Granger's return.
