The Pacers face the Bulls in their first regular season meeting of the season at the Fieldhouse to wrap up a challenging back-to-back.
The Pacers continue to consistently play like contenders and last night in Detroit flashed their championship caliber of play in the first and third quarters to seal up their fourth win of the season before returning home where they will face the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.
To Detroit's credit they absorbed those monster spurts of quality play and continued going at the Pacers which forced a 48-minute effort from the Blue and Gold. All five starters played over thirty minute except for Paul George. He played over 40 minutes.
But in the end the minutes were only a burden for PG and Lance Stephenson (38 minutes) and their young legs can handle the extra work on a back-to-back this early in the season. The physical and mental fatigue is always a concern in a situation like this when the Pacers have to face a tough-minded Bulls team on three days rest.
But that's the NBA and the Pacers have shown great focus in the here and now, so I certainly don't expect to hear any complaining about the schedule from the Fieldhouse. Instead the Bulls and schedule combine to present a challenge which is usually when this group is at its best.
