Pacers Links: Last of the unbeatens begin tough stretch of schedule at Detroit

Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

The Pacers didn't play on Monday but woke up on Tuesday as the last team in the NBA without a loss. That status will be put to the test in Detroit when the Pacers play the first of four tough games in five days.

Kevin Love couldn't find the range from three-land to save the Timberwolves against the Cavaliers, while Andre Iguodala put a whoopin' on his old team in Philadelphia and the L.A. Clippers lobbed in points from all over the place to run past Rockets.

Losses on Monday by the Timberwovles, 76ers and Rockets left the Pacers as the sole remaining undefeated team in the NBA. But how long will that claim last?

The Pacers begin a brutal stretch of the schedule a with four games in five nights and when you throw in Memphis next Monday, five games in seven nights against teams expected to be in the playoff mix throughout the season. The fun begins on Tuesday night when the Pacers visit the Detroit Pistons before returning home to play the resting Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.

The Pacers can't look ahead to the Bulls while facing the new-look Pistons with added veterans Josh Smith and Chauncey Billups joining young bigs Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond. Speaking of Billups, the Pacers hope to have his counterpart, George Hill available after the point guard missed the Pacers last game against Cleveland with a sore hip.

Hill went through practice on Monday but was not proclaimed 100 percent so his status for Tuesday remains a game-time situation. Whether Hill plays or not, I'm sensing a renewed vitality to the old Pistons' rivalry this season as the division foes face off for the first time.

Here is my appearance on today's The Phil Naessens Show where we discuss the good vibrations arising from the Pacers 3-0 start.
