Former backup big will look to return to the playoffs in the Western Conference.
Louuuuuuuuuu, we hardly knewwwwwwwww youuuuuuuuuu!!!
After one season exceeding expectations off the bench for the Indiana Pacers, reserve big man Lou Amundson reportedly signed a minimum deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves as Sweet Lou ended a frustrating offseason in search of a better deal.
Amundson joined the Pacers last season as an emergency backup big after a deal with Golden State to move Brandon Rush. After Jeff Foster was unable to make it through the season with chronic back problems, Amundson became a fixture in the playing rotation, finding time in 60 games off the bench.
As an undersized center backing up Roy Hibbert, Amundson often earned a loving chorus of "Louuuuuuuuu!" from the Fieldhouse faithful for his relentless play and ability to get to the ball and make unexpected plays. Amundson averaged 3.5 points and 3.7 rebounds in the 12.6 minutes he played per game.
The Pacers dealt for Ian Mahinmi and drafted Miles Plumlee to add more size to their front-court depth which put Amundson on the free agent market. Good luck, Lou!
