The Indiana Pacers second-round draft pick Orlando Johnson flew to Indianapolis on Monday ready to report to his new office at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and get to work. The shooting guard out of UC-Santa Barbara changed his Twitter handle to @Pace_O11 where he also indicates that he will be wearing number 11 for the Pacers. Johnson word number 33 for the Gauchos but Danny Granger obviously has that number locked down.
Seems like a lifetime ago since we saw Jamaal Tinsley rockin' the matchsticks in the blue and gold. If OJ comes out strong, something tells me the Pacers may have a few "retro" 2008 nights so they can change the name on the old inventory of Tinsley jerseys to get something out of them in the gift shop.
I'm assuming Johnson will remain in town to prepare for the summer league team camp before heading down to Orlando next week to play in the Orlando Summer League. Looking forward to getting to know Johnson's game better after all of the positive comments about his play following the draft.
