Sadly, this will be the last update on Indiana Pacers associate head coach Brian Shaw's quest to find a lead chair in the NBA for the 2012-13 season. According to Jason Quick, Shaw pulled his name out of consideration for the head coaching vacancy with the Portland Trail Blazers and let Frank Vogel know he was ready to saddle up for another year with the Pacers.

The Mighty One, Mike Wells added this quote from Shaw on his return and the task at hand for the Pacers this season.
Shaw on returning: "I'm looking forward to building off the success we had last season. It won't be easy cause we won't b able to sneak up"

So yeah, it really sucks that Shaw can't find a head coaching job...but...if he's gonna be on a team's bench, locking him in for another year is a big boost for the Pacers. It also gives a boost to the summer theme of continuity. The Pacers now have their starting unit back along with the coaching staff to hope right back in stride for the upcoming season.
Not only can they all hit the ground running in training camp but they will have, well TRAINING CAMP to actually add some depth to the game plans Vogel has been putting together with minimal practice time over the past 18 months. It will also make it easier to incorporate the new faces into the playing rotation.
Shaw is dead on about not sneaking up on anyone this season. The Pacers certainly aren't the most talented team in the East, but they should be a unified, strong team capable of building on the success they had last season...without any excuses.
