Wild Wednesday

So I finally turn off and cornrows tonight around 7 only to be interrupted by my friend with the crazy message that the Pacers have traded Darren Collison and Dahntay Jones for Ian Mahinmi. As well as possibly signing Gerald Green and potential trade for DJ Augustin..... What just happened?

As of now. Here is who is still on the roster if the rumors are true and all the picks are signed.

(Starters still completely intact) George Hill Danny Granger Paul George David West Roy Hibbert

(Bench new faces) Ian Mahinmi Miles Plumlee Jeff Pendergraph Orlando Johnson Lance Stephensen Gerald Green Tyler Hansbrough

12 players. 3 open spots left. Wow.

To be honest. The only one I'm shocked about is Collison. He didn't get a full year off the bench under his belt. Although we do know that he specifically said he wanted to be a starter. He was probably not happy with the Hill resigning which meant his starting job. Seems the Pacers didn't get back the value of what they sent but to me that just means there's another trade or signing coming (Augustin? Brand? Delfino?)

In the end. The Playoff starters stayed the same. Just the second unit (second whole team almost) got revamped. I hope these guys can mesh quickly.

Quick Breakdown;

Green - Is he an upgrade from Barbosa? Still crazy athletic if not more so than Leandro. Hmm. Time will tell overall. He was in the DLeague for most of last year so that troubles me. He did torch the Mad Ants when they played him though. So far I think it's even although Barbosa has the better attitude and character.

Ian Mahinmi - Upgrade from Amundson? Yes, although I would have gone with Fasenko here. No offense but definite defensive upgrade.

Jones - We will definitely miss his leadership and spark. But sadly (the former Mad Ant) can be replaced.

Collison - I was always a Collison fan. As I stated above. I think he only wanted to stay here permanently if he could be the starter and Hill passed him last season. I still feel the Pacers could have gotten more for him. He will be missed.

Quite the night. And still a ways till next season.
