According to the Sacramento Bee, the Kings will not extend Tyreke Evans and could possibly look to trade him in the off-season. The question is would you trade for Tyreke Evans?
Evans looked like he could be a future star in his rookie year averaging almost 20 points per game. Ever since though he's fallen off and become a third wheel to DeMarcus Cousins and rookie Isaiah Thomas. He still can give you 20 plus per game if given the chance and could Indiana take the chance on him?
He was drafted by Sacramento as a point guard, but has since switched to small forward. Tyreke could play anywhere from the one to the three here with the Pacers.
Pairing Evans next to Danny and Paul would be exciting for all Pacers fans, but will the Kings just take a player like Collison or Hansbrough from us? I think it would have to take a little more.
We would likely have to add in our 26th pick along with the duo of Hansbrough and Collison for Sacramento to even consider a deal.
I did the deal on ESPN's Trade Machine and the trade came out even without the draft pick even added in yet. It seems like both teams get a fair deal here. You can try it for yourself on ESPN.com as well.
Would you trade Tyler, Darren, and the 26th pick to Sacramento for Evans? It sure seems like it could benefit us long-term and right away. Adding a piece like Tyreke could have us upend Miami in the playoffs the next time around.
We'll see if the Pacers make a move for Evans or any other player on draft night or any time this off-season.
