As far s I am concerned, we won all games.
Game 1 was a learning curve and we sure learned. We bounced back strongly in games 2 and 3. We showed our inexperience in game 4 and for 3 quarters of game 5, it almost looked like our inexperience will haunt us again. Then came Darren Collison. The same point guard who took one for the team before the regular season ended when he accepted the bench role with grace. He set the pace well in the 4th quarter and made sure the exhausted Magic team kept running until they ran out of gas. In the process, we became the 1st team in the east to advance to the 2nd round. When was the last time you heard that said about our Pacers?
Next up, all signs point to Miami. They have yet to clinch but NY may have already gotten their token win of the series. As much as I want to see an Indy-NYK series, it seems like we're getting Miami but despite what many think that we are just going to get beat black and blue by the Heat, I think we have a legitimate chance of beating this arrogant squad not once, not twice, not thrice but 4 times in a 7 game series. I am expecting a long series based on how we played them in the regualr season. We got a beating in the 1st 2 games but bounced back big in the 3rd meeting almost beating them if not for that last shot by Wade. Then we had a 15 point victory in our last meeting. We looked intimidated in our 1st 2 meetings but gained confidence in our next 2 games. We know, as well as the whole world knows even though they might not admit it, that we can beat this team. We have the personnel and the depth to sustain a long series.
Hopefully, the team does not get that "mission accomplished" feeling just by advancing. On the contrary, this is just the beginning.
