Indiana Pacers forward Lou Amundson was acquired before the season with little fanfare as the news more notable for the departure of Brandon Rush than just what Amundson might bring to the team...other than his signature ponytail.

Jeff Foster was still in the mix, so Lou (before the season he was still just Lou) would only get the playing time scraps leftover from backing up the front-court backups, Foster and Tyler Hansbrough. But as Foster struggled to stay in uniform, Amundson saw more and more time and as his minutes in the rotation became regular, so did all of the little things he contributes.

Suddenly, he went from Lou to Loouuuuu!!!!

Rebound? Loouuuuu!!!!

Steal? Loouuuuu!!!!

Blocked shot? Loouuuuu!!!!

Lob dunk? Loouuuuu!!!!

Frustrating his opponent? Loouuuuu!!!!

Now as the Pacers head into the playoffs, the threshold for a "Loouuuuu!!!!" call throughout the Fieldhouse is when he stands up to come off the bench. The guy has filled the gap at backup center in remarkable fashion considering he isn't even a big power forward, let alone center. He slso carries on the spirit of Foster, playing in relentless attack mode with a modest offensive game but somehow, someway gettin' it done.

He's also spawned a great shirt to celebrate his Loouuuuu!!!!-ness and when this beauty started popping up in the stands at BLF, I knew Amundson had not only arrived in Indy but he was now an official fan favorite.

Power of the ponytail!
