Jeff Foster Injury Update: Back Procedure To Keep Foster Out At Least A Week

CHICAGO, IL - APRIL 26: Jeff Foster #10 of the Indiana Pacers watches his teammates take on the Chicago Bulls from the bench in Game Five of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals in the 2011 NBA Playoffs at the United Center on April 26, 2011 in Chicago, Illinois. The Bulls defeated the Pacers 116-89. To add a little more bad news to the Chicago post-mortem, Indiana Pacers center Jeff Foster is going to be out at least a week, according to Mike Wells.

Foster, who was with the team in New Orleans on Saturday, returned to Indianapolis on Sunday and had a procedure done on his back Monday.

Vogel said the procedure will keep Foster out of the lineup for at least a week.

This isn't good news for Foster personally nor the team as a whole considering this is arguably the toughest week on the schedule with a trip to Florida to play Orlando and Miami remaining. This may ramp up the urgency to make a move for front court support before the trade deadline, but nothing done on that front will help this week.

Of course, at this point, Roy Hibbert staying on the court and out of foul trouble and then making his presence felt is more of a concern than Foster staying off the court. But combine the two issues and you see the Pacers are desperate for some front court help. Besides, I'm getting tired of these Foster injury updates.
