D West for Al Jefferson?
Could it happen,should it happen?
I know we are doing well, with that being said I think Al Jefferson at the 4 spot will set us over the top. I think he's the perfect addition to Hibbert. He can score, rebound and play D. Im not sure that the Jazz want to part wit him but I truly think its worth a shot. It will give us a San Antonio twin-towers feel with two capable big men. I think we would have the BEST front court in the league. Who could we give with West to make this happen?

Really!!!!!!!
Try again…..B/C Jefferson CANNOT play a stich of defense. He can’t move laterally and last check and last time I played (3 days ago) you need to move lateral to play any kind of defense.
***Forever Grunge...Man!***
*Hill with the steal, he drives the lane and finger rolls. COUNT IT aaaand put'em on the line...A magnificant display of defense from George Hill*
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
You should be smacked for even bringing this up .. we owe a lot of the way we’ve succeeded this season to D. West on and off the court … You wanna bring in a guy who has annually NEVER aided his team in winning or getting into the playoffs, but having decent numbers? Stop smoking please
NO, thanks.
He doesn’t bring the leadership that West brings which is very important to this team.
I feel like I've seen this before.

No Thanks,
I’ll keep West for the following reasons.
1. West plays away from the basket in a Chris Bosh style of PF that fits well with Roy. Jefferson plays down at the basket only, and would be in Roys way.
2. West is a good defender . . . . Jefferson is only a good defender on guys that take shots from the block so he can block them.
3. Jefferson is very injury prone.

Nope.
Sorry. FAIL!!!
Al Jefferson might be a slightly more talented player, and I like the fact that he might be slightly more prototypical as far as a backup 5 for Hibbert….however….for his 50% higher contract next year (versus West’s $10mil.) I’ll take West’s significantly better leadership than Al’s slightly better talent. Also think Wests skills fit slightly better with Hibbert on the court.
Plus, that just sends the wrong message to the team.
no

Althou Jefferson would be ideal
considering he is a COMBO, West has already cemented his spot on this team.
In fact despite the stellar additions (players & coaches), West has been the anchor.
I've been moderately in favor of Al in the past
But that was before we signed a PF for a great deal, who seems to be working out well and has great chemistry with the rest of our team. I’d only want Jefferson in a salary dump, but even then, I don’t see where the minutes are going to come from without screwing up chemistry, and I don’t want to spend so much that we put re-signing Hibbert at risk.

Come visit The Fantasy Ninjas. We'd love to hear from you.
If somehow he could be convinced to come off the bench...
…he could get starter type volume of minute, taking some of the load from Hibbert and West and relegating Tyler to 12-14mpg and Amundson to 0mpg. I’m not saying that would work. Just not as worried about the minutes (the egos on the other hand could be a concern) and I wouldn’t ask Hibbert or West to come off the bench b/c they compliment each other.
Anyway, none of that matters. I don’t think I’d risk it for the same salary concern you mentioned…though if it was really just a salary dump, I think I’d take a chance if we talked to his agent and him and they said he was willing to come off the bench and support the winning ways of the team.
However, I don’t know that Utah feels that Favors and Kanter are far enough along to justify a straight salary dump…infact I’m sure they’re not. If we have to give up something, and there’s no doubt we would, I’m not willing to risk the chemistry and cap strain.
