Marco Belinelli SG Paul George
Trevor Ariza SF Danny Granger

Chris Kaman C Roy Hibbert

The Indiana Pacers face an interesting challenge when they host the New Orleans Hornets on Tuesday night. The Hornets have been a team in transition following the Chris Paul trade but recently have gained some traction when head coach Monty Williams altered his starting lineup at the start of February.

With 6'6" point guard Greivis Vasquez and 6'10" power forward Gustavo Ayon in the lineup the Hornets won three games in a row before losing last night in Oklahoma City. The change in starters gives New Orleans one of the few teams in the league that can match the Pacers length and in fact surpass it with the big point guard.

The Pacers don't necessarily rely on their length advantage to play difference-making defense, although Paul George does at times when he zeroes in on a smaller guard. But getting up under the opponents chin and making them uncomfortable is more a matter of will than size and something the Pacers need to continue to display in order to add another W over the Hornets.

Here is the Pacers.com preview. For a New Orleans perspective, check out At The Hive. Also, after the game check out Pacers Overtime on WIBC 93.1FM with Eddie White. Need to have an Indy Cornrows mention on the show!

Both of you are right. :)
On January 3, 2012, he joined the Los Angeles Clippers,2 but he was waived after playing 10 games.3 On February 15, 2012, the New Orleans Hornets signed him to a ten-day contract.4

Cool

I didn’t remember him being released, but I know he just joined NO recently. Had a hunch it was a ten day contract.

What was that possession?

Have Paul go one on four in the lane and hope you don’t get whistled for three seconds?

About time they whistled Kamen

by SirStuckey on Feb 21, 2012 8:09 PM EST reply actions

10 points so far

I’m still waiting on one of his Jarret Jack Jump Turnovers. It’s gonna happen.

by Gwen on Feb 21, 2012 8:11 PM EST up reply actions

We never should have let him go

He’s a warrior and was the only person who stepped up on the team when Granger got injured the year he was here.

by SirStuckey on Feb 21, 2012 8:12 PM EST up reply actions

I never minded him, and he seemed more emotionally stable on a non-emotionally stable team

He’d be a nice addition but I wasn’t really in love with him. His really bad habit of stepping out of bounds, or throwing the ball to no one when he got stuck in air was infuriating to watch, like he was unaware of where he was on the court.

I guess he’s better at that now since he went to the Hornets but he did that at both Portland and here.

by Gwen on Feb 21, 2012 8:14 PM EST up reply actions

yea, he’s a decent back up point guard.

by rrs on Feb 21, 2012 8:36 PM EST up reply actions

Hampered a bit lately by an injury. He really took advantage of the opportunity Chris Paul leaving and Eric Gordon being hurt brought him.

Finally get the lead, and then we fall apart. Pacers succeed when they pass the ball around and play as a team. When individual players start trying to do it all themselves, and force shots and such … that’s when we get in trouble.

That should be in the ESPN sports center highlight reel for the night.

I think we beat both the team in the blue uniforms and the team in the green uniforms.

Well, night everyone

Here’s to beating the Charlotte Hornets. I’m not sure if they’re actually alive.

Well, that wasn’t pretty, but a win is a win.

Props for AJ

Price has been playing well lately. Good to see that. I like this team with a triple point guard threat..Collison, AJ & Lance……add Hill after tomorrow if he can play the point effectively..Then it will be Hill-Collison-AJ in that order..Lance at spot mins at the point and back up at the 2.
