Indiana Pacers guard George Hill left the floor in the January 31st win over the New Jersey Nets with a chip fracture injury in his left ankle. The injury wasn't as bad as it sounds or as initially thought, but three weeks on the sidelines has cost Hill 11 games and forcing the Pacers to adjust to his absence in the playing rotation.
With the All-Star break looming next week it appeared Hill may hold off on returning until after the break to take advantage of the extra days off. But according to reports last night from the Fieldhouse, Hill appears to be ready to go and getting some run before the break will only help the Pacers hit the ground running for the second half of the season.
Hill could be back in action Tuesday when the Pacers face the New Orleans Hornets at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. If not then, his return could come the following night in Charlotte. Whenever he does step back on the court, he will bring a lot back to the team -- well beyond the 9.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals reflected on the stat sheet.
G3 has been able to work with the team as well as individually, so the sooner he can return to game action the better.
