ABA Throwbacks

Is there some way we can get the Pacers to keep these uniforms all season. They are so sick. I haven't wanted to wear Pacer's gear in years. I've felt halfway ashamed to wear blue and yellow as a combination for the past few years lol. Not that I wasn't a fan. I just usually don't go all out on rocking team colors if my team is doing terrible. Shirt here and there maybe. Like I'm a Cubs fan, and I have several shirts. But Unless I'm AT the game, you won't see me sporting any Jerseys anywhere. This is a slick look for the Pacers though. Given our new identity and respect level, I think it only fitting to have a new look. Even thought it is an "old look". I mean obviously they are newer fitting versions of the ABA jerseys. I really dig them though. I think they really like playing in them too though. They have been really energetic the past few games I think.

If you wont rock their shit when they're bad

Why would they take input from you? And why waste your money on things you wouldn’t wear if the wheels fall off this in a couple years. Ive worn my dirty hat and ripped shirts every chance I get out in california including the past 5 years and I keep buying more. I’ve taken a lot of ribbing about it and its making right now that much sweeter cause everyone knows im not a bandwagon fan.

Exactly what I was thinking.

I like being the only pacers fan in Kansas that has always rocked pacers gear through thick and thin.

I too

Am a Pacers fan from Kansas. What part are you from?

Woohoo!

So awesome to know I’m not the only pacers fan in Kansas besides my brother. I’m from belle plaine, just south of Wichita about 18 miles.

Damn

Don’t think i’ve heard of it haha. I’m going to college in Dodge City for two years then Wichita State! Nice to know there are other Pacer fans in Kansas tho!

Sorry, mate, but I have to chime in.

I’m with these guys. Unless we’re completely misinterpreting you, you sound just like the casual fair-weather fan that’s infuriated me the past few years. I’ve worn my Pacers shirts and sweatbands to the gym since I started watching back in ‘99, and I didn’t stop simply because our team went down the crapper. When people bashed on our team, I defended them staunchly – which was a freaking uphill battle, admittedly, because the critics were spot on.

Anyway, now that they’re 15-6, I’m glad to hear you like the team again.

Well sir

I’m not a complete dumbass that believes a NBA team exec is going to be scanning team blogs for fashion tips. I am merely a fan speaking my mind about how cool the throwbacks look. I’m happy for you that you feel like that much more of a fan because you wear ragged ass clothes. If you had a shred of reading comprehension, you might have noticed that I did say I owned several T-shirts and such. I was mainly getting at the fact that they have been an embarrassment of late. I am and will always be a Pacer fan. I’ve had season tickets for over 15 years. I’ve been on that wagon for a while.

I knew it.

Uniforms make the player, there’s no way it’s just a coincidence that the team has continued to play so well.

That explains it right there.

Just go back to royal blue

Whether they get new uniforms or not the royal is just so much more noticeable and so many teams use navy now. Though I guess that’d make us the same colors as the Warriors.

I went to the pro shop today. . .

I walked up to the counter and asked for my Born Ready Lance Staircase Stephenson Jersey, and the lady looked at me like I was from Mars.

Denied

Then I asked for my Magnum D-League Rolle Jersey . . . She told me to get out or she was calling the Cops.

Denied

She was kind of cute so I asked for her number. . . . She picked up the phone and started dialing.

Denied

Order online Broski’s!

Sir Sci

Don’t poke the sleeping bears…..We’re building…Theo will have us smashing the Cardinals soon enough. You won your series. Now your roster is starting to fall apart, and you’ve lost your manager. It’s ok….At least you are a Pacer fan.

Jeezus

You guys are being stupid. I’ve been a fan for my whole life an I don’t wear their gear. Its just not my style. Hating on this guy is pointless. Also those retro fits and new warmups are pretty dope. Not buying them though. Just isn’t me.

Its not about not wearing the gear. Its about him not wearing the gear because he’s “ashamed to” and the team’s “an embarrassment”, and now he wants to buy more gear because we’re winning. its whatever, im glad he buys season tix and kicks them a little revenue even though he’s probably one of those dudes that sold his playoff seats to bulls fans. just more amusement on my part than anything.

oh what a pass by STEPHENSON! AND THEN ITS PAUL GEORGE!

Don't kid yourselves....

I’ve been a proud hoosier all my life. I always root for Indiana teams. I’m a major homer in that sense. BUT Seriously, hardly anyone around this state has worn Pacer gear for a WHILE…. I see more O’Neal and Miller jerseys when I DO see Pacer Gear. Our attendance speaks volumes about my very point. I don’t tend to wear sports gear about in the first place. Like Luke said, it’s just not my style. I’m a huge Colts fan, and I don’t wear my jersey around. They’ve been like the best team record wise for a decade! Jerseys are fine at games in my opinion. I just don’t like wearing basketball jerseys in public. I MERELY spoke up about how dope the retros were. Dumbass Keyboard Warriors. Most of you have prolly only been watching them since the Playoffs last year. I have ticket stubs from back when they were in Market Square! I live downtown, and stayed in during SUPER BOWL weekend last night JUST to finish the game. Even though we had it under control early. Being ashamed or feeling that your team is an embarrassment doesn’t mean you aren’t any less of a fan. I still root every game every season. I always root for underdogs. It comes with the territory.

by Kyle Stanley on Feb 4, 2012 9:59 AM EST up reply actions

this entire debate is fucking retarded

it’s nice to feel rewarded when a team you root for is finally good again, but seriously, shut the hell up. the Pacers need all the fans we can get.
