Chris Kaman to Indy!?!??!
Hey guys just read on one of the websites that Indiana may have moved to the top of the list in inquiring the big man. Looks like Indy would take Kaman and his 9.3 million salary straight up as a back up to big Roy. 9 million not 14million I guess because it is prorated or some NBA rule. I haven't seen much of Kaman, form what I have read he is a pick and pop guy. So...what do you guys think?!?!?!

I already linked in the Love thread on the frontpage
but we need a new fanpost every single time a player’s on the trade block i guess.

I would make this trade:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=79t6mq9
Kaman for Hansbrough + 2012 2nd round pick
We pay the remainder of Kaman’s salary, NO gets a fiery player in Hansbrough (who I like, but he just doesn’t have the skill set to cut it in the NBA), and another draft pick in a deep draft.
I think this is fair, and I would do it.
Working to become the best - Roy Hibbert
Our line-up would be:
C: Hibbert, Kaman, Foster
PF: West, Foster, Amundson, Pendergraph
SF: Granger, D. Jones
SG: George, Hill
PG: Collison, Stephenson, Price
By trading Hans, we lose a fighter, but we also lose a black hole on offense. Foster could see minutes at PF when he comes back and Amundson could hold the fort at the back-up PF as necessary.

Well you know they wouldn't take that.
How about just Hansbrough, no 2nd rounder?

they may or may not
the biggest benefit is shedding a large amount of payroll to help entice a new owner. there’s not many (any?) teams with the ability to do that where trading for Kaman makes sense.

We may not have the money to pay Hansbrough when he is due for an extension, anyways.

I think we could get more for him than a one year rental of Kaman
but I also tend to overrate all of our players
I'd like to think so too....
…but, I might be willing to settle for trading Tyler for Kaman. Just not sure that’s something they’d want or they’d just want the savings.
I’d much, MUCH prefer waiting until the last minute before the deadline before offering Tyler.

Dont think wete tradn for.him, cash only!
Herd we are offern cash only, no trade….
If Houston is offering Thabeet and/or Hill + a pick, even if it's a second rounder, that's a better deal
Those guys aren’t long-term monetary commitments, and at least Hill still has a slight shred of potential left. But if it’s true that a “deal isn’t likely to get done” then that leads me to believe that they’re looking to shed money for the new ownership. Otherwise why would they even talk to us?
God help us all if Bird gives up a first rounder. My hope is it’s a second rounder or Hans, and that we can at least have a fighting chance of long-termming Kaman with the MLE, or something in that range (essentially the money we would have eventually paid Tyler, if he is in fact a part of this trade).

Kaman's not a guy I have any interest in keeping
Just a cheap rental big that can score for the 2nd unit. He’s not very efficient at all, plays pretty bad D, and is injured all the time. Cheap trade that amounts to us just basically taking his salary, great. But I wouldn’t want to keep him.
"He's like Darth Vader." - Frank Vogel on Larry Bird
Obviously we're attractive because of the salary dump we can provide, but would you give up Hans?
I personally would. I’d much rather give him up than our 2012 1st round pick. I don’t think NO would do it for less than Hans or a 1st round pick. A 2nd round pick alone would just be insulting, even though they would get to wipe the books clean of his salary.

wow, if Houston offers that and NO ends up trading him to Indy for a 2nd rounder, Rockets fans will be REALLY pissed
it’ll be the Chris Paul trade conspiracy all over again
Remember it is Stern's call
It is not about what is best for the team and how it plays. It is how does this get sold and make the most for the NBA.
Besides why give up a fighter like Hans to add an increased rent costt in Kaman. Now if you balance with some options on Gordon, then it might be constructive.
Richard E Schultz
How can you justify losing Hans for a guy we get for 2/3 of a season?
Tyler’s had a string of poor games, but he’s turning it around and at least shooting better. He looks a lot like he’s forgotten his identity. I imagine he’ll find it again before too long. Give the guy a break, he isn’t a bad player.
Okay, I'll correct myself.
He’s shot pretty crappily over the past 4 weeks. He’s had 4-5 games of at least 50%, but the rest are all 30% of below. Anyway, I still think he’ll turn it around.
The stats are even that big of a deal
He’s an energy play that comes up big when he needs to. There were stretches of possessions where he took it to the Bulls. He’s a guy that will make that play. That stuff doesn’t show up in the stat line.
I like Tyler....
but he’s not only shooting poorly, he’s not playing smart.
I will say this though. He’s begining to learn how to overcome his poor shooting by not ALWAYS shooting and continuing to do those little things we love. He’s also not trying to get the ball on the low blocks and then wait for the double team anymore. He’s playing a bit more in the high post which is good. He’s not a 20ppg scorer by any means, but he’s better facing the basket and attacking than chucking ugly shots with his back to the basket.

Still think Tyler has some value on the market
What about getting Kaman (w/o giving up Tyler). Then moving Tyler for backcourt help (Clips have a glut of guards, and the Cavs are trying to move Ramon Sessions)
I was thinking of how hard it might be to trade Tyler for Memphis' 2012 pick.
Probably improssible, but you’d think they need front court help more than us. Not saying I’d do it, just considered.

I think we are the frontrunners bec we can absorb Kaman's contract
without sending back any contracts to NOLA. Here’s the link:
http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba2-are-pacers-contenders-with-kaman
forgot to say one more thing.
leave tyler alone for now. he’ll get better.
Daaang!!!
It looks like ole Larry might pull this off to land Kaman. A not bad at all big guy who can play the 4 and the 5….Kaman can play some of Tyler’s mins behind West and along with West or Tyler while he plays the 5. Good move. Lets just hope DJones (who has been playing OK this year) and Lance and Price can make up for the loss of Hill. Would have been nice to get a 3 team involved to land us another wing back up.
***Forever Grunge...Man!***
*Hill with the steal, he drives the lane and finger rolls. COUNT IT aaaand put'em on the line...A magnificant display of defense from George Hill*
kaman isn't that bad
He has a lot of post moves, was good with the clippers before injury. He would be a good asset to play with west or tyler once he knows his roll as a big body to rebound. I think player with our defensive 2nd unit would benefit him because those guys are hustle which also push’s the 1st unit to go hard! Say what you want to say but teams don’t look forward to playing against hibbert, tyler, foster, djones, pg, or even dg ( he has picked up his overall game). They are rough and tough!!! :) go pacers!!!

Since Houston
Is willing to deal anybody for Kaman so it seems, we might end up sending Tyler and a 2013 or a 2nd 2012 and get J.Hill (F & C) and lets say Terrance Williams (SF) while Houston gets Kaman. Much rather have C.Lee or X.Henry, but Terrance would add a little more size at the wing back up than what we have.

That’s what I’m thinking.
I’d like to get Hill and Patterson though, instead of Hill and Williams. ;)
Hill can play PF/C
Patterson can play SF/PF
We do need a backup C and someone to backup Granger at the SF.

Get two of Houston’s marginal bigs when they are trying to add one themselves. Don’t get it.

Just came across this...
4 team deal that would give us Mayo and Sessions

Give me Sessions!
What happened to this guy? He had a great rookie year and then his minutes have been all over the place. Is his defense bad or something? Doesn’t shoot the 3 though, which could hurt some.

from hollinger...
+ Pick-and-roll point guard who sees floor well and makes short-range floaters.
+ Not a great athlete but excellent feel for game on offense. Poor outside shooter.
+ Absolutely horrid defensive player. Can’t move laterally at all. Has to guard 2s.
Still… we could probably hide him defensively a bit, especially if Hill was playing
This is in reference to a story that came out yesterday
It’s what this FanPost is all about. Nothing new.

With Danny finding his stride
on both ends of the court, looks like Hansbrough is the NEW NBA trade machine fan favorite.
Despite the fact that Larry values Tyler and what he brings to our team, a recent post by a Timberwolves fan about how he was worried Tyler was actually going to hurt someone with his physicall and reckless style of play, was all I needed to hear.
Hasbrough’s not going anywhere!
Your right . . .
If we trade anyone it should be Lance. . .
Check out my website at www.bradwellssucks.com
Why not Price. Loved that 1-7 in 13 minutes the other night. Guy hasn’t played in a long time and decides to start chucking. LOL He should have been setting up guys.
I like Lance, but really, I like our whole team right now (Just somewhat iffy on Price, Hans and DJ).

…Price is untouchable indefinately.
Ok, not untouchable, but he’s not just an end of the bench throw in for trades right now.

If he was asking for too much,
he definitely asked the wrong person.
Sorry guys
I am not willing to give up Tyler or Lance at all, both are oozing with talent. Tyler might be having a hard time now but we all know he can score and be physical and Lance IS “Born Ready” he just needs more time on the court to develop. The only players I could see trading would be A.J. Price or Dauntay Jones. Leave the rest of the team alone. Foster will be back soon to back up Hibbert and maybe he isn’t a scorer but his defense is top notch, then we have Amundson as well if those two get into foul trouble. I say go after someone else to back up Granger, Jones gets too erratic at times. I’ve heard talk of J.R. Smith, sounds good to me, he is rough around the edges but get him in this atmosphere around these players and that will change. He has that toughness we like too.
