it’s that I hope the NBA starts turning over more rocks looking for talent. John Hollinger and I think Henry Abbott had a little discussion about it a few months ago, about how guys like the Sasha Pavlovics and Eduardo Najeras keep sticking around just because the NBA knows who they are more or less. They talked about of European guys that would (should) offer much more but they aren’t “in the club” so to speak. And it’s not just actual Europeans, there’re plenty of Americans who’ve gone elsewhere and grown their game and turned into more than adequate NBA players, guys like Bo McCalebb, who’d probably push DC pretty hard for the starting spot here.

It’s not like NBA teams don’t have the resources to find “diamonds in the rough,” they honestly just seem kind of lazy. they don’t see the difference between a 12th man that can’t do much but fill a uniform and a 12th man that can come in and give you 10 points if he gets a shot. The league chasing Gustavo Ayon was encouraging, was glad to see the Pacers involved there even if we missed out. That guy’s gone from “who?” to starting in the NBA because he knows how to board.
