The Indiana Pacers had a 12-2 run in the fourth quarter to cut a sizable Atlanta Hawks lead to three. From there, the Hawks rattled off the next six and 10 of the next 12 to put the game away. The Pacers played reasonably well offensively, but defensively, they allowed the Hawks to get open shots all night, resulting in big time Atlanta basket after big time Atlanta basket.
David West led the Pacers with 27 points, hitting two three pointers and Paul George had 18 points, nine rebounds, and assists, but it was mostly the starters that couldn't match up with the Atlanta starters, even despite a solid effort from the Indiana bench in keeping the Pacers within striking distance. Lance Stephenson left the game late in the fourth after being struck in the face by Tyler Hansbrough.
