Hawks Edging Pacers 51-50 at Halftime

The Indiana Pacers were able to showcase some rare offensive flash in the first quarter against the Atlanta Hawks, as David West led the way in a quarter the Pacers were able to keep pace on the offensive end for one of the first times all season. The starters played well enough to give Indiana a 25-22 lead after one, but a 15-2 Atlanta run to open the second gave the Hawks a double digit lead. Indiana struggled to work their way back into the game, but the starters returned to close the half on a 16-6 run to cut Atlanta's 11-point lead to one.

David West leads all scorers with 14 points on 6-9 shooting. Paul George added in 10 and five rebounds, with George Hill (8) and Roy Hibbert (7) giving the starters 39 of the team's 50 first half points. The Hawks were led early by Josh Smith, returning and scoring nine, as Al Horford pitched in nine as well as part of a balanced Atlanta scoring attack. The Pacers have nine first half turnovers, but have been able to cover up their own turnovers by forcing seven Atlanta TOs.
