It didn't take long for the San Antonio Spurs to impose their will on the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers were hampered once again by countless turnovers, coupled with poor shooting, and the Spurs were off to the races. San Antonio took a 20-point lead late in the first half, but the Pacers stormed back on an 11-0 run to cut the lead to just nine at halftime.
More turnovers set the tone for the Spurs, and from that point, it was yet another San Antonio run away from killing every ounce of momentum the Pacers could muster up. The result was a bench clearing opportunity for the three Pacers rookies to get a few minutes. The Pacers once again were killed on poor turnovers, getting a season low 18, but still getting outscored 18-8 on points off turnovers.
George Hill made himself visible early, with he and David West leading the way for the Pacers in their second quarter comeback. Hill finished with 15 points and six assists, over half of the team's abysmal assist total. West added in 12 as Paul George scored 14.
