NBA flips on flops for the upcoming season

Kelley L Cox-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Which NBA and Indiana Pacers players will flop their way into fines this season?

As denggoy1 mentioned in the FanPosts, the NBA revealed their plans on Wednesday to address flopping in the upcoming this season.

Fines will be levied after the fact upon further review in an attempt to stop the flop from messing with the NBA game. Players will get a warning the first time, then be fined $5,000 for a second violation. The fines increase to $10,000 for a third offense, $15,000 for a fourth and $30,000 the fifth time. Six or more could lead to a suspension.

The only problem I have is that the fine may deter future flopping but the flop in question may decide a game in favor of the flopper. At least they are raising the issue and it will draw attention to the notorious floppers that drive us all crazy.

As Mike Wells recalls, Frank Vogel was fined in the playoffs last year for calling the Miami Heat the "biggest flopping team in the NBA." I'd say Vogel deserves a refund, although he is happy that the league is trying to address his beef.

"The NBA does a great job delivering a great product and I think that's what they're trying to clean up more than anything, just the silly acting and trying to fool the officials," Vogel said. "It's a good thing."

So....which NBA player do you think will lead the NBA in flopping fines? I found Kevin Love and Blake Griffin to be underrated flop masters last season so I hope they lose a chunk of change. Take your pick with the Heat, of course.

Who else?

Also, which Pacers player will lead the team in floppy fines? Tyler Hansbrough quickly comes to mind although it is hard to tell what is actually a flop with the big fella sometimes. Any other candidates?
