Around SBN: How The Kings Beat The Coyotes: Lather, Rinse, Repeat

Guys, guys... The Pacers are actually good this year. Let's reflect.

I know it's been the theme this season to come up with a FanPost reflecting this team needing to improve or a move to help the Pacers get to the next level, but I'm writing this not for any of those reasons, but because neither of those have been anywhere near as big of a deal as they've been in years past.

This Indiana Pacer squad, despite their loss tonight has been much improved from recent seasons and has really been a fun team to watch from the fans' perspective.

The vast majority of FanPosts look forward into what this team can do to improve itself or its stock, and that's totally fine and in step with what is to be expected of the fan. I'm taking this opportunity though to step back, take a breath and appreciate the first Pacer team I've been proud of since the 2003-2004 season. These guys have depth, chemistry and a decent team makeup. There will definitely be some obstacles to keeping this team together, but after the years of despairing through Artest, JOB, too many young guys and a team that just didn't know how to win games it's nice to see a cohesive unit that can make this city proud.

I speak for myself in saying that I'll be at every game for the rest of the season and I encourage everyone with the means and ability to do the same. Let's make our city proud; let's let our team know how much we appreciate the work they've put in to improving and let's make it hell for opponents visiting Banker's Life Fieldhouse.

Go Pacers!

Nice to read a post

By somebody who doesn’t fall into a black despair and throw out s@$t like: “Oh my God, we lost a game—let’s blow up the team and start over!” after every loss in a condensed season.

Hear, hear....

…This——-“These guys have depth, chemistry and a decent team makeup. This says alot. I don’t think we had anywhere near enough “young guys”. Not with talent anyway. I was a big proponent of blowing things up and drafting high for a few years. But, I realized that Bird will never give up any ground gained, never take a step back to take two steps forward.

So I gave up on that idea. Drafting a higher risk, upside type like Paul George made a big difference as well as the Collison trade and the insane progress of Roy Hibbert…all that has helped ease me into accepting this squad as the foundation for a group of players that I can get behind for the immediate future. I love this group and aside from some disapointment in Tyler and Granger, I don’t want to see anyone on this team leave.

The fact that I’m no longer pining for a complete rebuild says alot about how well this team is playing and the kind of heart and passion they’ve shown.

GO PACERS!!!!

Go Pacers!

Man, I don’t have any disappointment in Granger or Tyler at all, Danny is an all-star and can score at will, especially if you make him mad and it is obvious to anyone who is watching that his defense has improved dramatically. Tyler is just in a slump, you know he can score and grab rebounds and he will come out of the slump.
