The Indiana Pacers play the Boston Celtics for the third time in three weeks looking to remain unbeaten on the parquet while the C's are hoping the third time is the charm after losing the first two meetings.
The Celtics have been on a bit of a roll lately, winning their last three games and four of five while dealing with some injuries. Last night the C's beat Orlando without Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen and Jermaine O'Neal so they may not have the familiar look again tonight, but beating any team three times in a row is a chore no matter who is playing.
Here is the Pacers.com preview. For a Boston perspective, check out CelticsBlog. Also, after the game check out Pacers Overtime on WIBC 93.1FM with Eddie White. Need to have an Indy Cornrows mention on the show!

If the Pacers can win these next two games
I believe they’re good enough to locked up a top four spot in the east later this year. On a side note, wish we could of signed GH last week (and Hibbert). Worried that we might of gave up a first found pick for a guy who we only had on our team for a year.

Curious if that puts Indiana in a better position
That advantage sure didn’t seem to do Orlando any good.
It would be nice
To take a early lead and hit the gas. These close wins have been good, but let’s blow out an inferior (on paper) team tonight.
Thank God for the NBA lockout.
Roy has become the player we wanted him to be for the past few years, and you’d have to think his extra work in the extended off-season is a big factor in that. He’s displaying SO much confidence in the post, which is aaawesome.
The lockout is really the only way
I would’ve been excited about West. I wouldn’t have wanted him this year for an 82-game season starting in October.
It's hard to get excited about a guy coming off a season-ending knee injury...
… regardless of who it is. But yeah, the extra time he had to rehab was very helpful.
Has it even been called this year?
I can’t recall seeing it this year.
I think it’s supposed to prevent stops on fastbreaks, doesn’t have the same effect when at the rim.
It looked like he was fouled a step inside the arc.
I don’t know how far you have to be away from the basket for it to get called.
5 TOs already. We are allowing the Celts to stay in teh game early.

Pacers should be up double digits
Turnovers killing us
by gut19 on Jan 27, 2012 7:52 PM EST via mobile reply actions
We have 0 offensive boards. They have 3.
They’ve taken 16 shots to our 9. Come on, guys.
He hit that one earlier...
… I think he was hoping he’d get lucky with the second.
We're shooting 54%...
… when we actually get a shot up.
Getting some o-boards would be nice.
Pacers – 0
Celts – 3

This is just bad right now. Wow, we must be one of the streakiest shooting teams. Our slumps last a looooooooooooong time.
And it's now my sig
by Bronn on May 17, 2011 4:56 PM EDT
Pretty crappy quarter
Even the shooting fell off at the end there.
Only down six though, so let’s step up.
let lance play
at least he can create shots and get teammates in rythm, Hill is too small to play pietrus
by latrell spreewel on Jan 27, 2012 8:05 PM EST reply actions
I'd rather see Price
At least he knows how to run an offense.
But he's even worse of a scorer than Lance has been lately
…at least usually he is. Just b/c he can run the offense…doesn’t matter, no one in this unit can score ANY buckets. Lance has been a much better defender lately than Price ever was.
peac.e
We should have 1 starter in at all times. God I hate this unit. Hill is the only scorer.

Do that every time, Dahntay.
Cuz everyone else sucks.
Cant watch this shit.

Pump them up?
Or scare them crapless with his creepy smile?
Cant be starting slow like this all the time though
Its going to bite us in the ass.

Hansbrough needs to start at the elbow.
Even if his 20 footer isn’t falling…it’s the only way he can make shots. Shoot the 20 footer or put the ball down for one dribble and attack. Back to the basket = BRICK.
peac.e
Why can’t we hit layups? pacers make the most easiest shot look so damn difficult.

Wish Lance would get more aggressive like Hill.

Keep our starters out there
Put pressure on Boston to keep their starters on the floor so we can wear them out.
by gut19 on Jan 27, 2012 8:11 PM EST via mobile reply actions
It doesn't make sense...
… that Vogel takes all 5 starters off the floor. He needs to fix his rotations, because they don’t make any sense.
NBA <> Rucker Park.
Can LAnce learn that? At least it’s not equal unless you’ve made 5 All-star teams.
peac.e
And WTF is up with taking PG out first?
He’s the youngest starter with arguably the most energy. They should switch West first so that you can bring him back with the second unit at the start of the second. He provides more offense than Tyler.
I don't either understand it at all.
It makes the rotation so strange to start the game. If Hill is going to play eight first quarter minutes, he should be starting.
by dustinpurvis on Jan 27, 2012 8:16 PM EST up reply actions
I never thought I'd say this, but...
… thank God for Dahntay.
.370 FG%, .167 from 3-pt land.
Maybe, like, stop doing that? It looks bad. Make those numbers go up, please.
Man, Tyler has been stinking it up lately
by gut19 on Jan 27, 2012 8:17 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Actually think his last two games....
…have been “Ok”. Hasn’t taken too many shots and contributed a little in other ways. Better than Lou, but not giving us what we need or should expect.
peac.e
I’m sorry, but I seriously don’t think Tyler will last in the league unless he starts hitting that shot consistently. A PF shooting 30%. Wow.
And it's now my sig
by Bronn on May 17, 2011 4:56 PM EDT
Remember how good he looked in the preseason?
What’s going on with him?
by dustinpurvis on Jan 27, 2012 8:19 PM EST up reply actions
Hansbrough needs to find his shot.
He’s not getting any of those maniac bang around until you piss somebody off foul calls anymore.
Without that he’s just another weak link in the second unit especially when his shot is so off.
peac.e
Is it too late to reconsider the McRoberts trade?
At least if he were here and Tyler were gone, we’d have a PF that wasn’t afraid of throwing elbows at people’s throats. We could use that from time to time.
What is happening?
Are we getting cocky or are we facing a diff Boston team?
by denggoy7 on Jan 27, 2012 8:21 PM EST via mobile reply actions
We don't seem very focused.
Lot of early turnovers. Missing shots at the rim. Plus Brandon Bass can’t miss and Chris Wilcox has to be approaching a season high.
by dustinpurvis on Jan 27, 2012 8:24 PM EST up reply actions
Can we mulligan?
Call a do-over and restart the game?
Guess what?
We face a good team in the playoffs. We better win the first game b/c I know for a fact it’s going to be W-L-W-L-W-L-W
peac.e
Not if somethings broken.
It’s easier to put weight on a fracture than a sprain, oddly enough.
Where's Pendergraph?
We did get him to actually play basketball right?
by gut19 on Jan 27, 2012 8:25 PM EST via mobile reply actions
He doubles as Boomer.
And I think it’s his night in the panther suit, so he may be gone.
question
is it a technical foul if you punch your own teammate?
by latrell spreewel on Jan 27, 2012 8:31 PM EST up reply actions
Wouldn't it be cool if we could take all the future team injuries...
… and juts lump them on Lou? How great would that be? It wouldn’t change how effective he is, so that’d be awesome.
Yeah, their D is legitimately great.
But we’re not even trying to get into any kind of offense. Plus we’ve missed a lot of shots at the rim.
by dustinpurvis on Jan 27, 2012 8:30 PM EST up reply actions
I think it's just two good defenses making the other offense look bad.
So far Chris Wilcox’s random scoring spree has been the difference.
by dustinpurvis on Jan 27, 2012 8:31 PM EST up reply actions
Terrible defense on Lou.
Actually it was a very good challenge on that last shot….but I still hate his pony tail and will keep talking smack as long as he keeps not being as awful as normal.
peac.e
Vogel is charging up his I'm-gonna-kill-you smile.
For his halftime speech.
lol, good picture.
I HAVE FAST INTERNET HAHA
Ahaha, how that wasn't a foul on PG is beyond me.
Glad Bass missed him. lol
Just want to get this half over and done with.
Let’s get on with the 3rd
He got screened....
…but he is freaking TERRIBLE at getting past screens.
Pick a Freaking side and GO!!!!!
It’s like that awkward thing when you run into someone in the hall way and you keep moving to the same side and can’t get around each other.
peac.e
I just cheered...
… and my 3-year old just told me that I can’t talk until he’s done playing with his toys. Nothing like being bossed around by a pre-schooler.
Neither of my kids are home...
…and my wifes asleep. I don’t have anyone to save me from watching this debacle.
peac.e
Not to be a dick or anything
but thank god it’s only 5:30 here, I don’t feel like I’m wasting my Friday. This is brutal!
Only bad thing about West's buzzer beaters....
…His and Fosters have both been matched in the past two games by equally circus type 3’s at the buzzer by Orlando and Chicago.
Bball gods don’t like BS buzzer beaters by non-three point shooters.
peac.e
No, Chicago didn't get one.
Rose’s shot didn’t count.
Remember when west made a 3
At the end of the first half in that laker game if I remember correctly and we ended up playing better in the second had and won in lalaland?
Hope this is one of those precursors to good things for us.
Anyone watching the David West halftime special?
Brooke asks him why he chose Indiana over Boston, and he goes, “Well… the, uhh… the team… uhh… the team is good… uhh…” I bet he was thinking, “Don’t say money. Don’t say money.” lol
Hmm, ESPN's box score has Boston up by eight.
So maybe it was just a two?
by dustinpurvis on Jan 27, 2012 8:48 PM EST up reply actions
Thought it was a 3.
Must be the air down here
Wow...Danny is 3 of 6 from the field?
For some reason it seems like he’s missed like 6 or 7 shots.
peac.e
Am watching ny game for the first time this season.
They are in Miami. They keep chucking 3’s. Reminds me so much of the job years
I checked to see what his career high is.
He scored 32 against LAL in 2007. That blows my mind.
by dustinpurvis on Jan 27, 2012 8:57 PM EST up reply actions
I thought he was going to be pretty good when he was still with the Clippers.
He was a beast at Maryland against the Hoosiers.
peac.e
Looking at his stats, he hasn't had a bad career.
14.1 and 8.2 in 05-06. Those are Hibbert-esque numbers.
by dustinpurvis on Jan 27, 2012 9:00 PM EST up reply actions
Vogel draws up some plays...
…and the players are like, “Oooohhh….the ball goes IN the hoop. Now I see.”
peac.e
I've got to say though, I've had them on all night and, bad as they may be, they're a noticeable improvement compared to the Chicago announcers the other night.
by dustinpurvis on Jan 27, 2012 9:01 PM EST up reply actions
Better than Explosions in the Sky?
Oh wait, this isn’t an inspiring sports story, so they probably wouldn’t work.
I need to listen to the new M83 though…
Just saw Explosions a few months ago
one of my favorite concerts ever. Gonna make it a point to see them whenever they tour
Oh my God, if that doesn't make the top 10, I don't know what does.
DANNY GRANGER WITH SOME MOVES!
Maybe Vogel should have his halftime speeches before the game
We might go in to halftime with the lead once this season.
WTF, Roy?
Knocking the ball away from yourself? It was like his left hand and right hand were battling for the rebound from… himself.
Roy is a non-factor tonight.
Despite playing against lesser opponents. Grats, big fella.
Don't make me come over to your house and
Destroy all your tv’s, rockguyinindy
How do we play so poorly offensively at times?
We look so good with our ball movement and shot selection, and then a minute later we’re playing awful.
And Ray Allen looks like that jesus shuttlecock
In that movie….oh, wait
You must have missed Space Jam.
Because that movie is easily the greatest movie with athletes and cartoon characters ever made.
Piss off, you blind ass ref.
Stupid piece of crap.
Chance to cut it to single digits.
Please do it.
He looks like every white player
To play at Wisconsin. You can ask random people on the street in Arizona and they’d be able to tell you what college he played at.
Remember when Tyler could rebound?
WTF is wrong with his crappy hands these days?
Man....
…for a half second I actually thought that Lou shot was going to fall for a second there.
Silly me.
peac.e
the whole "have the person you least expect to shoot it" to end the quarters has worked a couple times...
but maybe an exception should be made for Lou
I think he just hates the Pacers for some reason....
…must be b/c Bird will always have more love than him in Boston.
peac.e
Dammit, can we please stop playing like the post-Brawl Pacers?
These guys picked up some really bad habits playing under JOB in their early developmental NBA years. Is it too late to sue him for damages?
OH DAMMIT
Another game we’re losing when we’re perfect from the FT line.
Games like this
are why Banker’s Life is not filled. No way Pacers should be losing to these geezers after they played last night. Unreal.
We're shooting .077 from behind the arc.
Way to keep it close, dipshits.
Too bad you can't be like the Pacers....
…they are throwing all kinds of stuff. Bricks, games, etc.
peac.e
thank god we don't play the celtics until april
these guys are getting it together
by latrell spreewel on Jan 27, 2012 9:31 PM EST reply actions
no they arent
look at their starting five, it’s probably the worst in the nba if that was their regular lineup, we just didnt make any shots, and lou amundson played entirely too many minutes.
Proud perpetrator of yelling "Money MIke" at Oracle Arena since Dunleavy's trade to the Pacers.
Danny and David are both shooting well.
Roy is killing us. He’s 3-10 with 6 turnovers. We really need to get the ball back in David and Danny’s hands.
Ugh, a little over 7 mins left in the game.
Think we can stage the comeback?
I'd honestly settle for a moral victory at this point.
Cut it to two possesion game by the final minute.
Looking good now.
peac.e
PG....I'll say it again.
Worst game this season. Completely got bailed out there. He’s learning some bad habbits from Danny.
peac.e
wonder why frank bothers putting the starters back in with 7 minutes left at all. He clearly decided he didnt care about winning the game by letting it get out of hand with them on the bench, no game last night, and no game tomorrow
Proud perpetrator of yelling "Money MIke" at Oracle Arena since Dunleavy's trade to the Pacers.
Then again, and again, and again and again.
I’d love to see us lose by only .5 points. That’d be a new one.
peac.e
David West's arms are enormous.
Blake Griffin may jump over KIA’s, but David West bench presses them.
cricketts
Proud perpetrator of yelling "Money MIke" at Oracle Arena since Dunleavy's trade to the Pacers.
When the Pacers are off....
…so am I. And actually I didn’t plan on the Kia pun….it just kind of snuck out for some sad reason.
peac.e
that X honoring his alma mater
is actually the same size as their half court logo
Proud perpetrator of yelling "Money MIke" at Oracle Arena since Dunleavy's trade to the Pacers.
Boston's announcers are beyond delusional.
Even if they were rooting for the Pacers, I wouldn’t be able to stand them. Something Rush Limbaugh-ish about them.
this team keeps us on our seats every game
please pull this out guts

Paul George sucks at the PnR.
He had a cutting West WIIIDE open and missed him horribly.
hes young hell get it, im just getting at age 23 against pickup dudes
Proud perpetrator of yelling "Money MIke" at Oracle Arena since Dunleavy's trade to the Pacers.
right now? a little
when i came home from playing and saw we were down ten late third i still thought so, when we got it to 6 there then went back down 11 hope started fading.
Proud perpetrator of yelling "Money MIke" at Oracle Arena since Dunleavy's trade to the Pacers.
I'd feel better if we weren't shooting 35%...
… and there were more than 3 mins left.
With Pierce not in foul trouble.
I’m happier with the easy bucket than the fouls….unless it was going to be a flagrant.
peac.e
Bench Shooting
Pacer 3 for 20
Celtice 11 for 19
Ugh, and one of our strengths going into the season was supposed to be our depth.
But that seems to indicate that our bench isn’t playing much defense either.
by dustinpurvis on Jan 27, 2012 9:47 PM EST up reply actions
Hansbrough playing poorly....Foster out....
…and George Hill not doing so hot either.
Bench = Weakness until that changes.
peac.e
Stupid, stupid refs.
PG gets shoved around without a call. Way to be, assholes.
1-16 from three.
And if I remember correctly, the only made three was the first attempted, right? Danny hit one to make it 5-2 I think.
Welp
I’m guessing more than a few drinks will be consumed on “date night” tonight. The wife is in for a good time tonight!
Here's what we need... 5 techs on Boston players.
Get us the 5 FTs and give us a chance. lol
This is the worst loss of the year BUT
we arent going to shoot 1-19 from 3 again all year so its nothing to worry about. we owe the magic a beating lets give it to them
Proud perpetrator of yelling "Money MIke" at Oracle Arena since Dunleavy's trade to the Pacers.
sacramento was awful
but the lineup the C’s started tonight, in 2012, couldnt win consistently in the d-league
Proud perpetrator of yelling "Money MIke" at Oracle Arena since Dunleavy's trade to the Pacers.
They've destroyed the Magic twice
With this lineup. They even spotted them a 27-point lead last night.
thats ORLs problem
bradley and pietrus never have or will be anything and brandon bass is “nice” bench player. its the same team that got down the 27 points to the magic in the first place, dont forget that.
Proud perpetrator of yelling "Money MIke" at Oracle Arena since Dunleavy's trade to the Pacers.
Unless they'd take Lou or Pender...
I’d rather make a move for him then than give up something we are going to need down the road.
peac.e
Knock down a 3, make it a 4 point game.
Get a stop, get a basket, cut it to a single possession game. Foul, they miss 1, we hit a three and tie it. TOTALLY COULD HAPPEN!
No no, if you read through that...
… we have to make TWO threes. You like my plan?
Wait...
With 2 minutes left we chuck desperation 3s and with 34 seconds left we drive to the basket?
Orlando coming off two BAAAD losses when we head there on Sunday.
Should be fun… ugh…
Only way this makes me feel better...
… is if Boston goes on a 10-game winning streak.
Boo, Atlanta gonna beat Detroit in OT.
Orlando still getting their teeth kicked in by New Orleans.
I had the #2 pick
K. Love, Ricky Rubio, Josh Smith, Hibbert, Calderon, Ty Lawson, Gortat, Jarrett Jack (love this guy)
I have Dirk too but he’s been only OK.
I picked up Lou Williams and he’s been solid.
Pretty solid.
I stopped playing snake format. Only play Auction. The draft is why you play fantasy sports (plus the pot if there’s money involved).
I think auction is so much more fun.
peac.e
This is the first year we've played our basketball league for money.
I’m the only 4-0 team (someone else is 3-0-1) and I’m currently winning 8-1 this week.
I'm not surprised they lost this game
Just from a pure “on the road, veteran team, already beat their brains out twice, once in their building” sense.
made so many mistakes in the first half
the critical junction was the third quarter when Danny got hot and got the game tie, then all hell broke loose and they just lost focus right after ward

pg with 16 and 9. and i dont wanna hear it being inefficient, his FG% wouldve been fine if not for the 2 missed ones in close while gettin bumped near the end
Proud perpetrator of yelling "Money MIke" at Oracle Arena since Dunleavy's trade to the Pacers.
See Sprees post above....
….that stretch had alot to do with George’s poor defense.
PG did come on a bit toward the end of the game.

Vogel looks like I've felt all day today, haha
Forcing smiles, “I just lost my goldfish” eyes, his exhausted, “I just want to exhale as loud as I can” demeanor.
