The Indiana Pacers get a shot at rapid redemption against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night after falling apart at home last night against the Orlando Magic. Of course, the Bulls present plenty of problems and a much better effort by the Blue and Gold tonight may still result in a loss.
Derrick Rose returned to the court on Monday after dealing with a toe injury that had him miss a few games and survived without issue, so he should be ready to attack the Pacers as usual tonight. The Bulls will be without forwards Luol Deng and Taj Gibson which is a definite bonus for the Pacers, but they need to find a way to get some production out of the second unit to make depth a factor.
Here is the Pacers.com preview along with my chat on Bullsville Radio with Don Ellis. For a Bulls perspective, check out Blog a Bull. Also, after the game check out Pacers Overtime on WIBC 93.1FM with Eddie White. Need to have an Indy Cornrows mention on the show!

It Seems
That every game i miss, my GF always texts me the score and we win. When I get to actually see the games we get beat…..Its happened all season so far. I am thinking she is my gojo monkey by texting me and telling me who is playing great and who sux. Yeah, lucky guy..a Pacer chick that kicks the tv when they suck.. It might benefit if i not watch this game and maybe we’ll win……
***Forever Grunge...Man!***
*If Sacremento Sucks, then what are the Pacers?*
Don't beat yourself too hard.
Maybe it’s you but chances are, it’s not. It’s probably a combination of bad offense, fatigue, coaching mishap, defensive lapses, bad breaks and bad officiating.
But if you want to be superstitious….
Nah, it's you.
Stop watching, please. I want the number one seed. lol
Roy needs to do that every time.
Every freaking time.
Vogel needs to do something about our lazy passing.
I don’t know what sort of drill he can run, but this has to stop.
Love the consistency from NBA refs.
Danny lowers his shoulder and it’s a foul. Dwight Howard battering-rams Hibbert all of last night and there’s never a call.
According to Quinn, it's a hard call bc Dwight is so strong that it's hard to call a foul
that made no sense to me when he said that
Yeah, he wouldn't stop talking about how strong Howard is.
I heard him drop that golden nugget about not being able to call offensive calls against Dwight. Definitely an eyebrow raiser.
Any chance Pacers pick up a solid big
Foster is not cutting it. Too hurt all the time. We need a solid backup for Roy.
Shot total?
9 for Pacers, 16 for Chicago. Come on, guys.
Pacers are worst in the league in assists.
The times we’ve seen that trend reversed, we dominate. You’d think Vogel would go nuts in getting these guys to buy into the passing game.
... and hold his head under until he gets it.
Vogel needs to start grabbing guys by the scruff of their necks and beating the concept into them.
If I had to choose one player to build a team around, it would be Rose.

Lou looks lost. I know he related but I don’t think Jeff would be any more a liability out there.
All I want Lou to do is block out and get rebounds
That’s it. Please. Or at least knock someone around.
I just wonder
People always bitch about NBA being a one on one league. Pacers have great balance, which is probably boring to the “entertain me” generation. To me, fans would rather have a star player putting in 30 a night vs. balance and even winning for that matter.
Too bad because I can't accept the whole brawl excuse anymore
The fans got what they wanted, a good team with good guys and it’s still not full.
Agreed to an extent.
With the Pacers I’m pretty sure this team lost a HUGE portion of their fans over the past few seasons. It’s gonna take a full season of winning and a strong showing in the playoffs to get people interested again.
Even Two for Tuesday last night
and Magic in town and still too many empty seats. Looking forward to Feb 4 hoping for a sellout with SuperBowl crowd in town.
Casual fans don't know this team has a winning record.
And most sports fans in Indy are too concerned with the Colts present situation to devote time to the Pacers. Cuz they’re stupid.
I was excited when we signed Lou, because...
… I remember him playing very scrappy and efficient minutes against us when he was with Phoenix. Haven’t seen that yet at all.
what happened there? Did Lance carry the ball?

He's a good on-ball defender.
But when he has to chase guys around, he gets beat more than you’d like.
Everyone but Hill on our side is shooting 50% plus.
’Cept PG has taken one total and missed. So guys that have MADE shots are shooting above 50% save for Hill.

Paul George disappointing
This was supposed to be a big year for him. He is so damn timid. Get aggressive damn it. Plus he needs to handle the ball better.
Getting some damn good house calls.
Why don’t we get those?
I hate
Funk and King. 2 worst commentators ever
They're the second worse announcing team after the Celtics
But, Heinsohn is so old, I’m not sure if he’s lucid half of the time
Damn, dude, if you're gonna foul...
… DON’T LET THEM HIT THE STINKING SHOT! Pathetic!
Keep doing that, Roy.
No clue why he gets so far out from the post.
Danny Granger being outplayed by Brewer.
Guess we should be glad it isn’t Deng out there.
Wow, they left someone alone near the basket.
That’s like, the second or third time all season we’ve had that.
Who the F*ck is guarding Brewer? C’mon, man.

But I agree. Hibbert is playing solid tonight
WHAT THE HELL!?
God damn, dude, Noah just SHOVED Hibbert from behind! Shoved him so hard he almost fell over, and NO call! Such crap!
+1
I had to mute it. Chicago’s favorite brew. jeez never heard 2 more biased people than these two. Unprofessional
I was really hoping this taem has turned a corner this year.
They’re still bad. They have talent, but I swear to God this may be a coaching issue.
Their offensive sets are just..
no movement, don’t make a decision until 5 second left in shot clock, don’t pass, can’t make layups and their fast breaks are UGH-LEE
They don't make sense.
They have Hibbert making his shots against Noah, but they go away from it after he’s had a few good possessions. I REALLY wish we could see what they’re thinking.
It almost seems like they're trying to jump ahead
of the opponent’s adjustments. Rather than get stuck with a bad possession with Roy, they go away from him prematurely in hopes of catching them off guard. Overthinking it.
They have Danny feeding the ball through traffic to him
Darren Collison has to do a better job getting the ball to guys in the right place.
It was only a 3pt lead with 1:50 minutes left.
End the half down 10.
That’s your Indiana Pacers. Bonehead play after bonehead play. I just don’t understand the sloppiness.

Dear Brooke,
If someone doesn’t want you to age them by saying they’ve worked somewhere an extra 20 years, don’t then follow it up by giving out their age.
Bulls
I’m glad these games are competitive. I am always filled with rage when I see their lottery picks playing well against our guys picked in the teens.
I love Danny but he needs to pick it up. Watching him put the ball on the ground make me want to see him and Admunson do an NBA skills competition.
Larry and David need to sit down with Danny and say...
… “If you don’t stop putting the ball on the floor, we’re going to fire you. Learn to move without the ball and get the shot you want from a teammates pass. You have two weeks to comply.”
We hired bill Walton to help hibbert before.
Why can’t we hire Reggie to mentor our shooters and teach them how to move without the ball
+1
Although the last 2 games his stroke has looked better and he’s started the games better. Just around this time in the ball game he starts taking stupid shots. Hopefully that ends tonight.
Hansbrough
Question from a Bulls fan. Why house he play more against the Bulls? He killed us last year in the regular and post season. Is is the same reason Taj Gibson still plays behind Boozer? Is that why he doesn’t play more than David West, the money?
Theoretically
The offense Tyler brings would better suit the second unit that needs scoring, while West doesn’t need to demand the offense. Hansbrough can carry offensive load at times, I don’t know yet if West can, especially working back from his injury.
Of course, Tyler’s been off for a little while now.
You SO RARELY saw Reggie put the ball on the floor.
He only did it if he had a clear path to the basket or if he caught a defender in the air. The guy was ALWAYS moving. How do you see guys like Ray Allen, Richard Hamilton, and Reggie Miller and NOT model your game after them?
IF the ball doesnt touch roy first on a possession im not watching it
by PresidentDead69 on Jan 25, 2012 9:25 PM EST reply actions
OMG LOOK AT HOW EASILY HE DOES THAT
Do that EVERY TIME, Roy! And if they double you, POP IT OUT IMMEDIATELY to a shooter! SO easy!
Doesn't matter if Danny misses. He was wide open.
That last offensive possession is what you want to see EVERY time. Roy had a 1v1 post up, and when he got doubled he kicked it out. Profit.
Save for the Collison cut into the lane...
… the offense has gone through Roy each time. This is what you want.
yup
Love how funk auto calls it a foul lol

Mark's vocab
What was that big word Mark Boyle used when they were discussing the Bulls complaining to the officials?
we need something from D west
i know he’s still recovering but still
Funk
Shows he doesn’t know anything. Saying Hibbert’s jump shot is a bad selection. He can hit that!
I know
I’m sorry I’ve bee bad about it tonight, but it’s just killing me. Absolutely no credit to us, and everything towards them. ugh
That was a complete and total crap call.
I wasn’t watching PG on the shot – I was watching Roy get in position. He literally breathed on Noah and drew the foul. So much crap.
GOD THEY DID IT AGAIN
Noah keeps SHOVING HIBBERT!
This is the most bullshit officiating.
I’m glad Roy got that tech. He has every right to be pissed. Noah is shoving him EVERY TIME.
Pacers have a good team
But honestly I think Granger is the problem, he’s like a less athletic Vince Carter. Yea, he can score, but what else does he give you? Not much of a leader and doesn’t play much defense. If he wasn’t there, I think they could be as well rounded as Philly is right now. But take that with a grain of salt. It is a rivals opinion.
He's actually picked up his defense considerably.
Early on in the season, he was one of the best in the league in steals and blocks. Tonight, though, Brewer is making him look bad.
I agree
Granger pretty much has to be the weakest “star” player in the league. Slow as hell. Can’t get around anyone anymore.
Granger has his faults
but without his outside shooting to stretch the D we would really struggle to score
The
“what me??”" smile. I hate that thing
Dude needs to learn how to get into the lane and pump fake.
And it's now my sig
by Bronn on May 17, 2011 4:56 PM EDT
Yes
That would make his offense that much better. Take it down deep in the post, then quick pump foul, 2 shots at least.
I think it was because of the long strides.
He’s 6’0" and he covered about 12 feet in two steps. lol
Noticed that.
Which had me smh a little. This year he’s been usually around 8 by now
btw, anyone see Chad Ford's chat today?
Apparently Javale McGee thinks he’s a near max player, ho ho ho
He's a max
Like Kwame Brown deserved his deal. Isn’t he hurt?
He had a triple-double one time, remember?
How is that NOT a max deal player? lolol
Just started watching
How’s the officiating situation going? Part of me wants to go over to Blogabull and leave a comment that just says, “REFFFFFFFS!”

Deng, Gay or Gerald Wallace
Replace Granger with one of them and the Pacers are contenders, imo
Gay would give us some scoring.
don’t know about Wallace—our offense can’t really afford to take another hit.

The more intense the game gets, the more it goes in our favor.
It’s my opinion that unless we play with a dang fire in our bellies, we’re only mediocre. This team is like the Hulk, with the whole smash-mouth philosophy. They have to be angry and fired up to be impressive.
OMG
Funk finally said something in the way of the Pacers. Admitted Roy was fouled.
where was this team last night?
not that we’re playing perfectly, but we would’ve beaten the Magic with this effort
That's what happens when you play team basketball.

I missed the first half, but it looks like the third quarter was similar to the first.
So what went wrong in the second that hopefully won’t happen in the fourth?
Ronnie Brewer.
Forgot he’s a second-string player and lit us up. Also, we went back to isolation play and crappy, crappy passes.
NO NO NO BULLCRAP
Asik was flailing all over going for that board, and there was a DEFINITE jump ball between him and Tyler.
We'll take it.
That doesn’t happen enough in a season to be able to blame CJ.
Why does Boozer fade away on almost all of his shots? No one was on him. I’ll take it!

In last year's playoffs, if the Pacers had a five point lead with ten minutes to go, I would be watching the clock, rooting for it to hurry up and run down.
Right now, though, I just want the game to keep going. I mean, why shouldn’t the Pacers beat the Bulls?
Been in this position before
In this building. Keep building and then call me when we get to the four minute mark.
Tomorrow's headline...
… “David West with 28 in the fourth against Chicago gives the Bulls their first home loss of the season.” Thoughts?

Defensively, Rose was driving into the lane and kicking it out to the open man.
And he did it a lot. I don’t think it had to do with PG guarding him so much as it was Rose trusting his teammates.
he was kicking out because he's got a 6-9 athletic monster hounding him

Such a good game.
It all starts with our intensity. We need to play every game like it’s a playoff game, and we’ll be set.
It's funny, cuz Indy and Chicago were the last two unbeatens at home.
Once Indy lost at home, they went out and beat Chicago, leaving no unbeaten teams. lol
I'd like to think that the Bulls' starters poor shooting...
… was because of our defense, and not just off-night shots. Yeah?

It seems like every team has poor shooting against us.

Go Pacers!
We learned how to finish a game. A really bad call on the David West foul. Should have been another charge. Better officiating next time maybe.
Nah good call
He was on the half circle line. blocking all the way unfortunately
it's nice they took the time to get it right
I just wish they’d do it more often. Are only the Bulls allowed to get bad calls overturned?
God this victory was so sweet and filling
I don’t think I can eat another drop…..till bostaun

Yeah that is still happening this season.
We woop a team (tonight wasn’t a wooping, I know) but we don’t any love with little highlight packages. Annoying.
Something exciting is happening in indiana and we would love some attention :P
