The Indiana Pacers take on the Orlando Magic tonight at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in a key matchup between two teams off to strong starts in the Eastern Conference.
Orlando may take issue with that last statement considering they were drubbed by a short-handed Boston Celtics team last night playing without Ray Allen or Rajon Rondo. Still, only managing to score 56 points. Not good news for the Pacers as you can expect the Magic to show a little pride and bounce back with a better effort tonight.
Of course, the big matchup to watch will be Roy Hibbert dealing with a broken nose and Dwight Howard. Sounds like Hibbert will mask up for the game to take on Superman so hopefully it doesn't mess with his mojo. With the next three games on the road, the Pacers need to maintain the home Fieldhouse advantage they've enjoyed so far this season.
Here is the Pacers.com preview. For an Orlando perspective, check out Orlando Pinstriped Post. Also, after the game check outPacers Overtime on WIBC 93.1FM with Eddie White. Need to have an Indy Cornrows mention on the show!

Same Ole Pacers
Thats what Dwight, Turk, Richardson and the rest of the flubs are thinking. We need to punk these guys right up out of the feildhouse and do it early…love to see West and Granger lay the wood to them and hope Dwight runs into his kryptonyte against Roy. F**K the Magic!
***Forever Grunge...Man!***
*If Sacremento Sucks, then what are the Pacers?*
Really bummed Ryan Anderson missed all of his shots last night
means he’s due to hit ’em all tonight.
Roy ready to wear his mask tonight
breathing issues may have him in and out a bit more than usual. Hopefully it is the breathing and not foul trouble.
Pace
Vogel hoping Pacers can push pace. That is always something they are trying to improve but tonight moreso since the Magic prefer the slow pace.
is foster playing tonight?
better yet, has dwight howard been traded yet?
This is like Carmelo last year
We’ll have our three games against the Magic in the next couple of weeks, then he’ll be traded to a team we have to play three more times.
Very un-intimidating lineup outside of Dwight Howard
Jameer Nelson- your everyday average pg, Jason Richardson- old and declining rapidly, hedo turkoglu- old slow and another rapidly declining guy, Ryan Anderson- some no name average role player. Then Dwight Howard there to make up for all the negative the other guys protrude.

That no-name roleplayer is averaging more points than anyone on our team.
And shooting better than most, too.

Magic don't stand a chance against our secret weapon against Howard...
… Lou Amundson, with his amazing lock-down defense. Look out, Dwight.
lets go Roy!!!
I will love to see Superman vs “the Hulk” and not Superman vs David Banner!!! :(
I would rather Clark Kent vs the Hulk though!!! :)

lol, umm...
… Clark Kent is still Superman. Banner is certainly not the Hulk. But I get what you’re saying.
Bruce Banner? Or David Banner...

Actually it's a friend whose parents have season tickets. Usually get to go to about 5-10 games a year with him
Not usually for a game vs. a star like D12. Saw LeBron last year though. In the shortened season I’ll probably still get 3-4 more chances at free trips. Dude just doesn’t give me any notice.

That guy buried his timidity in the lockout's ashes.
Whatever that means. I’m just saying he’s been playing strong and confident all year. GREAT to see. He always had the ability – he just never utilized it for whatever reason.
Hedo 0-3 from 3.
The Pacers are AWESOME tonight. Roy is a freaking MONSTAR! Yes, Monstar. Think Space Jam.
...
Wouldn’t that mean that the Pacers are bound to lose? Can Michael Jordan even come out of retirement again? surely they have a cap on such things.

Didn't it lose handily to Portland and Memphis?
Such bull crap. These teams are much better. Most NBA fans are oblivious as to what’s happening outside of their own team.
I'll be honest, I thought Big Baby would be one of the ones who would be heavy
when the lockout was over.
Dang, really?
That guy has bad genes for sure, because he’s non-stop physically active off the court. No joke.
It's the blue uniform.
It’s slimming. Plus he’s number 11, which is double-slimming.

Can't fault Hansbrough for trying to create some offense.
Guy’s a double-digit scorer that hasn’t reached double-digits for 5-6 games. When he’s on the floor with Lou, Jones, and Stephenson / Price, he’s our second option.
did Dwight Howard just fall for an Amundson pump fake?
With 2 seconds on the shot clock. Wow. Scouting reports must be a lot of work to read when you’re a superstar and all
George Hill got called for a kick-ball two games too late.
Poor Monta. lololol
The long range shot is still a work in process.

Gotta extend this without Howard for the quarter.
Come on, guys.
If the answer is something illegal, disregard it.
Otherwise, I’m curious.
Pacers articles?
Or to someone from SB Nation asking for the position?
I love his body language there.
Clearly upset by his bad pass (good to know he cares), but didn’t let it affect him. I was sure he was going to make a bad reach in foul to avenge his mistake, but just played good D instead.

The late whistles are a new thing, aren't they?
I don’t recall them from years past.
HAHAHA
“He has not shot a free throw this year, Clark.” “Clark is not here.”
It's a 5 point game with us playing well and no Howard for Orlando.

I'm telling you guys.
Hansbrough just has one of those faces that people hate.
There’s no reason he should get to the line as much as he does as terrible as he is offensively.

I think he's waiting til halfway throught he 2nd.
Which is now. Probly see them in after this timeout.
I really hate teams that shoot jumpshots.
And only jump shots.
What's up with Vogel?

Playing like stupid selfish idiots again.
How can you have that much success playing good team offense, moving the ball and then take a bunch of forced shots 1 on 3?
peac.e
I... have no words.
Danny Granger showing us how awesome his ball handling skills are in the open court. SO impressive.
I love DG, but giving him the ball that far out is not a good idea.

Same reason he had the ball to end the game vs. Chicago in the Playoffs last year
We still think he’s a Superstar
Like it or not...
he’s our closer. My question is why you have to an Iso play at the end of quarters. It doesn’t work for us any other time.
peac.e
Being our closer is fine.
But you never saw Reggie with the ball at the top of the key at the beginning of a play. It was in the PG’s hands, and Reggie ran around until he found the shot he wanted. Danny needs to go back and watch his play.
Well, Danny doesn't really screen like Reggie.
But, that’s what I was saying. Why are we running down the clock. We need those seconds to run our offense and get the defense shifting and find cutting lanes.
peac.e
That second quarter sucked.
We were shooting almost 60% going in to it, and ended at 47.5%. Derp.

He said Foster was a better defender, and he was a better offensive player and then I stopped paying attention

I'm a little sad Dwight is the Magic points leader now
“Who is Orlando’s leading scorer?” has been one of the great trivia questions.
God, are you kidding me?
Guard Anderson. Whoever isn’t is killing us.
This is definitely a battle of two teams near the top of the East.
Close games are easier to stomach for the losing team. Blowouts are awful.
I don't think Howard does anything really bad, but for some reason I can't stand him
He always comes off as such a poser.
NOOOOO WRONG
His toe didn’t touch the line. That’s garbage.
Wrong.
His heal was up….but if the whistle hadn’t blown they probably would’ve played defense.
peac.e
Right. What happens after the move is irrelevant.
It’s that they called him out when he clearly wasn’t. Lame.
FTs are supermans' kryptonight.
But we are so far out of position when he’s getting those dunks that hack a Howard isn’t even an option.
peac.e
I'm not saying they would've stopped him...

Just so you know
The next 3 games are going to be EXACTLY like this one.
Or worse, probably.
West + Hansborough
= Worst PF combo in the league.
Sure glad Bird spent a ton of money and a good draft pick on those two.
He does this everytime the Pacers are down by double digits
When it’s obvious they’ll put out a win, he leaves. It’s sort of sad.
Haha it is true, women hate me like crazy.
Although men hate me too.
Maybe I should get a cat.
What would you recommend for the extra 400 pounds I weigh?
Besides exercise, obviously.

I'm wrong like 90% of the time.
But not about the Pacers. They will disappoint us every time.
Put in the scrubs.
Oh wait, everyone on the team is scrubs.
No, I agree
West looks like shit. He is lost on the offensive end and lets Anderson drive by everytime.
Damn....don't have time or energy to install chrome.
I doubt we’ll win all our games this season. You’ll be back next loss right?
peac.e
What in the heck is this offense?
You can’t tell me these guys went offensively full-retard all at once. This is ridiculous.
I had us 12-8 at the end of Jan.
So, we should probably be able to win atleast one more game.
peac.e
And to think I called into JMV's show yesterday all fired up about the lack of Pacers love.

Which one?
Whichever one makes the Pacers terrible. That’s really the only logic I’m operating by at this point.

See: this game. Kings game. Etc…
Your two-game sample size is impressive.
Name more, please. Gotta get the third to win me over.
All mornic troll posts aside....
What they really don’t know how to do is play through an oppenents run. They get outscored by 10 points in any 5-6 minute stretch and they start freaking out and forgetting what makes them hummm.
peac.e
Could explain why they usually play better in the third
when they have more than 30 secs to remind themselves of that.
I guess.
It’s pretty damn infuriating that this team can play long stretches moving the ball and taking good shots….and then get totally lost in hectic stupid play.
I might give them a pass tonight though. Orlando played team ‘D’ like a team that just got their ass kicked by the old-man team at the YMCA…which they sort of did.
peac.e
Oh, dear God.
Our point guards combined has 0 assists. At least they’re uniform.
It actually isn't as bad as you might think.
…aside from the nausiating 3 point disparity. (I know I spelled at least two words wrong there).
We shot almost 40%…which ain’t too far from our norm.
peac.e
Shooting is down all over the league
but 40% isn’t good, no matter how you slice it.
Heh, Miami is only leading Cleveland by 3. I’m surprised by Cleveland. Playing tough.
We're 27th....
in fg%….we’re 1st in opponents FG%….but over 2/3 of our games have been against teams that are in the bottom 1/2 of the league in FG%…so it’s not just our defense.
peac.e
No...
No it’s not.
It would be nice if some of those shots were falling. I fear we may have trouble defending teams that really spread the floor and have a ton of 3pt shooters (especially forwards)
