games until mid feb and start of mar are scary.
We passed the west coast trip in my opinion but the next 13 games will be brutal. We will be able to gauge how far the pacers will go this season. Imagine facing Orlando 3 times (hope they trade howard soon), boston, chicago, dallas, utah, atlanta, memphis, denver and miami and half of them are on the road. After that, we get to play the bottom feeders until the end of feb. We then start March with a bunch of back-to-back games against playoff teams. Chicago then atlanta, Miami then Orlando, Portland then Philly.
We could sure use a healthy and efficient squad during this stretch. We could also use additional scorers off the bench and hope by that time, Danny has regained his shooting touch.
Hope we win at least 70% of those games or am i being a shameless fan?

It sure can be scary
But for some strange reason I feel like we could win a decent percentage of those games. This is a different squad. They know how to come back. They know when it’s time to get serious. It was an amazing game last night, and as it shows, it’s only going to get tougher from here on out. We do need to bring our A game, and I have a feeling a trade is going to take place between now and some of those tougher matchups come next month.
Why not just edit ur post and add this?
Whatever, doesn’t matter. I’m glad they have such a tough stretch of games. Let’s build that mental fortitude early for the playoffs.

posting the sked was an afterthought.
not sure why i didn’t just edit it. the sked sure looks like an eyesore.
Eh
I think we win tonight and split the next four. That may be optimistic, but if we can do it, that’s 14-6 heading into February, and we could easily win like 9 of the first 11 games of that month. That would give us a chance to suck it up in March with the @ CHI to vs. PHI skid we’re facing through the middle of that month, and still come out smelling rosy for the home stretch of the season.

This squad versus Chicago in last years playoffs?
It certainly feels like we could have come out on top. The first three games were decided in the waning minutes of their respective fourth quarters. Given this teams penchant for closing out close games (Sacramento doesn’t count, because, like… I don’t know. It just doesn’t. Shut up.), there’s no reasonable argument that can be made that says we wouldn’t have beaten the Bulls.
Good teams in this league are just that. Good. When two good teams go head to head, one has to win. So if we play the top teams in the league and split those games 50-50, we’ll have proven we belong in the upper echelon.
I would have said that tomorrow and Wednesday’s match-ups were going to be very indicative of how we rank against elite opponents, but given Orlando’s franchise-low scoring and shots made totals, we may end up seeing a very demoralized Orlando team. Naturally, the adverse is also true.
I say all of this just to point out that going .500 over our next 13 games would be fine, and certainly no reason to panic. We play Orlando thrice, and each game a team has to win. We play Chicago, Miami, and some other hot teams, and in each of those someone has to win. Splitting with good teams may not be what we want, but it’s certainly better than losing. .700 may be a bit optimistic, denggoy7. 6-6 against the good teams with a win in New Jersey would put us over .500 for the next 13, and I’d consider that a victory.
The Orlando stats, by the way...
… are a reference to their match-up with Boston this evening.
.7 is really a stretch.
just a lot of wishful thinking on my part. if only we can have some sort of good karma going our way considering the bad ones we had since the brawl started by mr. peace.
if we go .500, i'll be pretty happy

hey, if we want to be the best, we got to beat the best,
truthfully, the Pacers just have to stay focus, and play like they are the better and more talented team. really other than playing against Chicago and Miami, there isn’t really a team in that schedule that you can say are heads and toes better than the Pacers.
Looking for a big win tonight, and the crowd better show up to support these guys, there’s zero reason for the crappy attendence so far.

utah, memphis, Portland, and the Clips are all good teams this year, but the key is we get to host those games, so we do get a break there and should win most of those games.

Saying this now....
…because it’s half time versus Orlando and I’m hoping to eat my words….
But, that home court isn’t looking so great now.
