The Pierce trade scares me, this is enticing news though...

Not really news, but more talk that the Pacers are eyeing EJ and hopefully NOT Paul Pierce. From ESPN:

No team in the league has more current salary-cap space for the rest of the 2011-12 season than Indiana's $14.3 million. But with minimum team payrolls this season set by the league at $46,435,000 and the Pacers currently at $43,776,036, they'll either have to add $2,661,964 in salary before season's end through signings or trades or pay that difference to their players, through the union, after June 30. ... NBA front-office sources continue to say that Indiana native Eric Gordon is the Pacers' dream trade target, but Indy has yet to make serious progress in trade discussions with Gordon's new team (New Orleans), much like it struggled to get very far with his old team (L.A. Clippers). If the Pacers ever do make a legit run at Gordon, one presumes that they'd have to be willing to part with Danny Granger to bring Gordon back to Hoosierland, which figures to be more palatable than it sounds thanks to the presence of the promising Paul George.

A DC/EJ/PG24 lineup is a lot more promising (and more of a long-term threat) than a DC/Pierce/DG33 lineup, IMO. But with the possibility of Hibbert and George Hill leaving at the end of the season, the latter could be a more viable contender this season. While there seems to be little substance to either of these reports, I think I'd rather use the money we'd save on a Pierce/Granger duo to resign Hill, Hibbert, and EJ for the long haul.

we don’t have to add any salary. Posey’s amnestied contract counts toward the salary floor. the rest is a bunch of rehashed bullshit. again. the Pierce stuff is EXTREME bullshit that I wish people wouldn’t even acknowledge, that’s how downright stupid it is.

to bad the DC/EJ/PG24 line up would never see the floor

because EJ would be hurt most of the time.

Can’t these trade threads stop? christ

this is off topic

but when did it become trendy to refer to players by their initials followed by their number? The first one I remember was AK47, which I thought was just because of the double meaning. But now you see it all the time, CP3, PG24, etc. I wonder when we’ll be hearing about RH55 or JP29 (although RH55 sounds like an experimental drug. Then again, PG24 sounds like an over-specific movie rating).
