Paul Pierce. Interested?
Just thought of posting this to get our minds off that debacle in "we-suck-ramento." You guys think they would want D. Jones for Pierce straight up. Yeah, I know....Christmas is over.
Will: Sam, we cant take it anymore. Can you share the trade rumors?
Sam Amico: Also, the Lakers reportedly are trying to find a way to land Paul Pierce. Not sure yet, what they are willing to give up. But again, it won't be an easy deal to make. The Celtics love him, obviously.

my choice also but seems like pierce is the one being offered for now.
at any rate, posting it just for the heck of it
just in case you're wondering,
here’s what the all-knowing trade machine says about the trade.
I only want him . . .
If they send his walker and dencher glue. . .

Pierce for Danny?
Only 2 years on his contract, leaves flexibility for resignings/free agency. Something to ponder?
I don't know what's so crazy about this
They’re essentially the same player, only Pierce is cheaper in the long run, has title experience and is a closer. Yes, Danny is younger, and theoretically more durable. But the way he’s been shooting this year, I’d take Pierce for him straight up if I knew Pierce could play at 75% of his championship level for the next two years. Since I don’t, for the age discount we’d be giving them in Danny, who’s like 5 years younger, I’d want a draft pick back…something highly protected.

I'd be ok with it.
I don’t really see why Boston does it. I’m also not saying I’d jump at the chance. But, right now it’s hard to see Danny in our long term future. Having Pierce (if healthy) would give us a guy that’s as good, a little better maybe, than Danny…or a little worse if he continues his decline into old age.
The key though, Pierce’s contract ends when West’s does so we can decide where we are going. It gives us a clear milestone in building this team.

what scares me abouth this is that
even if we really did get pierce for a bargain like pendergraph, boston will have tons of cap space for next season with ray allen and kevin garnett coming off the books. might make it even more difficult for us to match if boston made an offer to hibbert in the off season. orlando will probably make an offer also. hate to lose the big guy. only comforting thought is he made it clear he wants to stay. hope he keeps his word.
We should trade for him.
Then release him immediately after that, because if we’re gonna be stupid, we should go all out. I can just imagine the faces of the ESPN analysts now. Oh, so full of bewilderment.

So they love him but we could trade Dahntay Jones for him?
No. And no, I don’t want.
