The Indiana Pacers take on the Boston Celtics tonight at Bankers Life Fieldhouse after expending a lot of energy on Friday night coming back and beat the Toronto Raptors in the fourth quarter. Of course, Danny Granger will be fresh as a daisy after getting tossed in the first half against Toronto.
The Celtics also played last night, dropping a game at home to the Chicago Bulls. Like the Raptors last night, the C's will be desperate to win after falling two games below .500 with their latest loss. The Celtics will also have revenge on their mind after the Pacers soundly beat the C's last Friday 87-74 to begin their current three-game losing streak. Speaking of streaks, the Pacers also look to remain undefeated at the Fieldhouse so far this season.
Here is the Pacers.com preview. For a Boston perspective, check out CelticsBlog. Also, after the game check out Pacers Overtime on WIBC 93.1FM with Eddie White. Need to have an Indy Cornrows mention on the show!

heard pierce is almost 100%.
hope granger is ready and breaks out of that ugly slump
I hope people stop talking about those Granger trades.
Or about how he sucks. Hey, let’s trade him for Monta Ellis. That guy never takes bad shots or hogs the ball.

Excited for this game. Pacers need this one with a west coast trip coming up next week along with a stint with the magic and bulls.

I hope they're just hungry
Cause I’m kind of hungry, but I don’t feel like doing anything about it right now.
Celtics have barely been able to hang with teams that have a pulse, so I hope that prevails. This is going to be a really hard game though. Hopefully being at home sparks these guys.
Nope.

Boston have literally come up with 100% of loose balls
And have gotten literally 100% of the calls go their way.
Glad we finally got a call.
This one was getting out of control! lol
I think Pierce grabbed him when he was trying to go around the screen.
Should have been a foul. >.>

Come on, PG! Ray’s on his butt and you pass up a 3!?
When Roy falls to the ground...
… I always hold my breath. He’s so tall it’s like falling out of a second story window.
He does it so often that it doesn't even bother me anymore.

Liking what we're seeing here thus far.
On a side note, I’m watching how Philly does tonight. The Sixers and Pacers are the only two teams in the league with seven players in double figures. I’d like to see which team blinks first.
They're currently losing.
But yeah, let’s see if that holds up. Highly doubt it.
Nine points for George
I don’t know if this is usually when they take Ray out in the first, but it’s nice to see him go out regardless.
Looks like Fox is tryng to recapture that '24' magic with 'touch'

I like Lance's speed.
But that only looks good when it goes in. So… yeah. Maybe don’t do that.
I'm a real estate agent in Hamilton County.
And I’ve never once met another Pacers fan. Anyone else have that problem?
Ugh, and you write for this site?
Shameful. =)
He hit one
Already. Got by his defender and ot it off the glass. Nice 10-0 run to close quarter.
That'd be hilarious.

Pacers up 29-24
End on a 10-0 run. Very pleased with how they closed. Need to keep up the solid play.
PG
Needs to not jump for that steal as often as he is. He needs to see it before he goes after it.
Honestly, I'm okay with Dahntay when...
… he shoots near the rim. He’s highly effective.
Big fan of that defensive series just now
Finally came away with the board…

Nope
I wish I could restart his career starting the day he retires. I’ll miss his play. Always a joy to watch him go to work.
Jeff Foster Automatic!
I just turned on the game and Foster scores. Awesome.
Jeff "THE MONSTER" Foster
True story, I was in O’Charley’s in Noblesville “conducting business” when Jeff Foster walked in and occupied the urinal next to me. I will say, without shame, that I violated the number one rule of bathroom etiquette – I looked directly at him and said, “Hey, Mr. Foster.” He merely nodded his head. Best. Day. Ever.
Granger is still playing?
Funny, I thought he would have been tossed by now … or traded. Just kidding.
ARGH
Had a chance to see PG in a 1v1 fast break.
Yeah. 2 points and a block...
… to go alone with 2 fouls and 2 turnovers.
Woo! Rondo could play for New England.
Did you see his open court tackling? Good, fundamental hit.
I spent some time scouring Golden State's fan forums yesterday.
Those guys are really ticked that they passed on Paul George in last year’s draft. They still talk about it. Nice to hear that another team is jealous of one of our players.
good thing...
I think Golden State would have ruined him.

We are doing to Boston...
… what Philly is doing to Washington. That’s a nice feeling.
Oh, wow, what was that?
Did anyone else just see DC pass up a wide open Granger for George Hill? Wonder what that was all about?
could there be factions within the team…no.

I'd love that.
Because it wouldn’t make any logical sense.
Eh, none of the feeds are working for me
SF are in the process of beating the Saints – TD pass from Smith to Davis. (in case anyone wants to know)
Pacers up 56-48
A lot better than the last time these teams played and scored about 15 points in the first half combined.
Good to see E’Twaun Moore. I remember seeing him, Eric Gordon and Matt Howard playing in a high school all star game at The Hoosier gym.
Roy's shooting under 40%.
You’d like to see him start abusing JO a bit more, since it’s such an easy match-up for him.
Certainly looks like one Boston team will win tonight
Maybe two?
The point is…it’s all right with me as long as the Celtics are the ones on the losing end.
I just paid 10 dollars for the livestream
im sure its gonna be worth it
I agree. I have the best of both. Watching the feed, but hearing the play by play from Mark and Slick. The feed is delayed, so I know what is happening beforehand.
I got a feed that works but it's being commentated by some guys from an Eastern European country
For some reason, I want to say one of the Slavic countries
Not sure if I like Mark and Slick...
… more than Denari and Buckner/Croshere.
I'd be upset at not pushing this lead further
But I feel pretty good maintaining an 8-10 point lead. Just need to cut off any potential runs.
ours is fatter.

Nice
Granger is doing everything well, except shooting. Nice block by Roy. 3 by DC!
Slick
Slick was asking if Roy is jumping higher. I think it is that Roy is actually jumping.
Our defense is exciting.
Been a long time since we’ve been able to say that more than twice a season.
Look at Danny jawing at Hill.
T HIM UP! CAN’T HAVE THAT!
I love hearing them talk.
I don’t remember hearing that much communication in the recent years past.
peac.e
Their starters are playing a lot of minutes, it seems
Roy looks like the only one over 20 min so far
How's it racist
I’m sure if I were ever to become non-lazy and decide to learn Manderin Chinese, my accent would be attrocious….and I wouldn’t mind someone making fun of it.

But statistically, this is a pretty average night.

Seems like most nights there’s multiple players in the top 7 or 8 of our rotation shooting under 30%

Hey, the Pacers are shooting above 40% for the season so far.
Considering the stinkiness of earlier, not bad – the little things make me happy
I'm sorry...
Ty’s got his game. Go hard and hope for the best (foul or lucky bounce around the rim)…
But he’s got to learn to take better shots.
peac.e
Mike Dunleavy is gonna be out for about a month.
Hurt his groin, apparently. He seemed to always miss games here and there with injuries. I don’t miss him.
If we can keep up the improved ball movement.
I don’t either.
But early on this season I was thinking he’d be a great asset to have.
peac.e
His offensive flow, yeah.
But not his lack of defense. I like what we’re seeing from our guys.
Tyler just said...
… ‘Hey, Kev, remember my rookie season when you stared me down? Suck it.’
Hans
Hans to Garnett – okay old man, I’ll take that!
Tyler has to learn how to play big boy basketball.
What happened to the versatility he was developing late last year?
peac.e
T traveled
But he had Pierce draped over him that whole play as well.
And maybe some safe word to yell at Tyler....
…when he starts to hurt the team.
Like, “PASS”….
But they also have to get in a position to where ty can make an easy pass.

Every year he’s hit a three pointer, he’s had two for the year. So we’re destined for another one at some point this year.
Good to know they're playing so well this quarter
They’ll likely end up under 40% shooting for the night.

A few opinions.
New York is a bad team. Atlanta is a good team that caught a bad break. The Celtics are too old to contend anymore. It will be us and Orlando battling for that 3rd/4th spot. We may be able to beat out Philly for the 3rd spot.
Philly, Orlando, and Atlanta (with Horford)...
…probably have more talent in their starting 5. But only Philly has the depth to beat us out if we stay healthy AND DO THAT….yes Roy and PG
peac.e
Should have posted up DG with Rondo on him.

I’ve noticed him doing it more this season.
Really...
…I felt like he did it too much late last year and people were starting to anticipate it.
peac.e
I feel like he didn't do it enough
Or maybe not at the right times…
12 steals, 9 blocked shots.
Good numbers, fellas.
Yes.....
Stats are pretty good. I think if the 13 assists were about 50% higher the field goal percentage would be better….In fact, we’re probably about 6 or 7 terrible Tyler shots from shooting 45%
peac.e
Yeah, our team FG% is much worse because of Tyler and Jeff's combined 2-14.
And yeah, the assists need to skyrocket.
means our defense has been smashing mouths.
still need to box out better.

Hansbrough and Foster. Granger missed a lot of twos but made up for it with his treys.
If this holds up, we'll improve to 7-0 when we outrebound our opponents.
And improve to 5-0 at home. Sexy time.
Hibbs with the dunk!
I wonder if Roy is related to Toots Hibbert of Toots and the Maytals? Pressure Drop!

Why can’t he finish at the rim? He grabs an O board and then airballs a layup. How?
is it just me or is d granger turning into a d jones lite?
good defender and bad shooter so far. don’te get me wrong. am all for keeping granger but his shooting is up and down.

Competition hasn't been great
But this team is doing everything they need to do against teams they should beat. It’s good to know that crapper in Detroit is (for now) an anomaly. See if they can’t take care of business in Sacramento and Oakland before they face some stiff teams.
