Pacers Final Score: Pacers Ring Out 2012 Victorious

USA TODAY Sports

The Pacers ended the 2012 calendar year with an 88-83 win at home against Indiana.

Despite shooting 40 percent from the floor, the Pacers held the Memphis Grizzlies to just 37 percent shooting to get another home victory on New Year's Eve 88-83.

Fitting the final score was so defensive considering the Grizzlies and the Pacers are the top two teams in the NBA. Coming into this afternoon's game, Memphis was 12-2 when forcing their opponents to under 43 percent shooting. This was the 12th straight game that the Grizzlies had not found the century mark.

Paul George had 21 points and six assists in 41 minutes of play, leading the team on Monday in each category. Following close behind was guard D.J. Augustine with 17 points and six assists.

Free throw shooting improved for the Pacers as they went 20-for-24 on the afternoon, including David West getting to the line eight times and making seven of those shots.

For Memphis, Zach Randolph led the way with 21 points and getting 15 of the team's 44 total rebounds.
