IC Cold Links: Do-Or-Die Game For Fever; NBA Owners and Players Meeting Today

The Indiana Fever play the Atlanta Dream tonight at Conseco Fieldhouse in the decisive Game 3 of the WNBA's Eastern Conference finals. No official word on the availability of MVP Tamika Catchings but it doesn't sound like she will be a viable option tonight.

Also, Billy Hunter and the NBPA scrapped regional membership meetings today to instead sit at the negotiating table with the NBA in New York. Once again a little optimism is flowing after things ebbed quickly last week. After watching some hoops this weekend, I'm past all of the details and ready for some action. Here's to hoping a deal is struck soon!

Check out the links after the jump with more on the Fever, CBA talks and Kelvin Sampson preferring to take the blame for poor administrative skills as opposed to cheating.

He's not the worst choice at least (Carl Landry)...

I would be underwhelmed about overpaying him, but he is a fine passer and he can certainly score. He would probably make Collison, Hibbert, and the offense overall look far better. I don’t think his defense is awesome, but it’s not the worst in the world. He’s like the Danny Granger of power forwards.

You know, if they are certain he is healthy, I don’t have a problem with them signing him to a 3-4 year contract.

No real way to tell if he's lost a step or two, except by signing him.

Agreed Landry would be far worse than West. I think we should go all out for Nene ($11-12M/yr), and if we can’t land him, stick with our platoon system of Tyler/McBob.

I think Danny's is still a better SF than West (post injury) will be a PF

Also, West is not tough enough physically… and the last thing we need next to Roy is another guy wearing a skirt. Tyler and McBob, even though they have shortcomings are not soft, and as long as we have big softie Roy at center we need a physical 4.

I think West is the worst choice.

His age, his health, his style of play, and the amount of money he would demand all work against him.
Nene isn’t much better. He’s more physical, but injury prone. And he wants too much.
Landry? At least he wants to play here.

Nene hasn't been out much at all for injuries the past 3 years.

It was 4 and 6 years ago when he missed almost the entire season.

Let me be clear

I’m not a Landry fan, but Nene is just SO damn expensive.
I agree with you 100% on West, but feel uncomfortably sure the Pacers don’t.
