IC Cold Links: John Wall Confirms Spot In Ball For It All Classic; Fever Set To Tip ECF Game 1
Great news for the Ball For It All Classic between the D.C.-based Goodman League and Knox Indy Pro Am. Washginton Post Wizards' writer, Michael Lee confirmed that John Wall will be in Indy for the game on Saturday night. From all accounts, Wall has been tearing up the offseason hoops circuit wherever he plays.
This week he's been in Las Vegas, turning heads at the Impact Basketball "Lockout League" against other NBA players. Brandon Rush is also playing in Vegas this week and came away impressed yesterday, offering this analysis in tweet form.
John Wall is gonna be a problem this year. Got that stroke going
I admit I was looking forward to seeing Kevin Durant but it may be a better show if the Goodman team only has one alpha dog in Wall to run things. You can buy tickets today at the UIndy box office or through the Knox Indy Pro Am website.
Speaking of tickets, don't forget to check out the Indiana Fever tonight in Game 1 of the WNBA Eastern Conference finals at Conseco Fieldhouse. IC Cold friend, Eddie White is offerin a special deal. Just click here and use code word: EDDIE. Several Pacers players are in town and expect to be there to support the Fever.
Man, I feel like Don King, but I love and gotta support the local hoops scene. One hoops event you can't get a ticket for, though are the closed workouts the Pacers are running at Hinkle Fieldhouse. I slipped by on my lunch hour yesterday and was able to catch about ten minutes before security noticed me and kindly asked me to leave.
All of the players reported to be there on Tuesday were on hand along with Dahntay Jones. As mentioned above, Brandon Rush remained in Vegas. They were very ogranized, running through drills at both ends under the guidance of Carlos Knox. All of the players appeared healthy, wealthy and wise and they were getting after it. Great to see!
After the jump a few links of interest as we all hope to hear the words "tentative agreement" emerge from the labor negotiations today.

Personally
didn’t agree with that 2015 player ratings. I think Paul George should have been higher. At that point in his career he should be contesting for a spot in the all-star game. Maybe I’m biased but many said after the draft last year that many would look back on that draft 5 years later and think Paul George will be the best prospect to come out at that time (yes even over John Wall and others picked earlier).
I liked this quote about Hibbert and Hans at 58 and 67 respectively...
Let it be noted that Sharp has now picked Hibbert and Tyler Hansbrough. It’s not just that he’s drunk the Vogelade. He’s also possibly on acid.
Feel like Vogelade could catch on…
Should we make something of the fact Rush isn’t involved in the team ‘practice’, while everyone else not present is a free agent or named Posey? Do the other players not like him? Did Bird/Vogel make some sort of promise behind closed doors about his future with the team?

So was Dahntay and he took a redeye flight to Indy to be there
It’s kinda unfair to compare any player to Jones, he’s a a perfect teammate and if he weren’t such a damn ballhog I’d love him. But still, if Jones can make it no reason BRush can’t.
Anyway, the rest of the team likes him fine I’m sure, him and PG seem like good buds. In my admittedly extremely brief interactions with Rush he seems like a genuinely nice dude. I doubt there’s any “promise” about his future, but the writing’s on the wall, we’ve tried to move him what, 2 straight trade deadlines?
Still, not a reason not to be at the workouts.
With the 16th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft the Indiana Pacers select Thomas Robinson, Kansas
