IC Cold Links: Fever Win Game 1; Dahntay Jones Mixing It Up In Vegas

The Indiana Fever hung on for a 74-72 win in game one of their Eastern Conference playoff series against the New York Liberty. Erin Philips came to the rescue, knocking in the game-winning bucket with 1.5 second left in the game, to preserve a winning effort by the Fever that included 25 points from local legend, Katie Douglas.

Out in Las Vegas, reports of the intensity ramping up include Indiana Pacers swingman Dahntay Jones doing his part by verbally mixing it up. As you'll read in the links today, DJ and TJ Ford bumbled a game-ending possession that left them barking at each other, while yesterday Jones talked his way into a war of words with Detroit Pistons forward, Austin Daye. I think Dahntay's nickname should be 'Last Word' because the man can talk.

Oh, and the owners and players do try to promote their respective solidarity on the labor front. Hey, at least the NBA and the referees agree to a new deal.

Glad to see the Fever getting attention

They’ve had a very successful season and had a much better crowd at Conseco Fieldhouse than the Pacers did.

It was Phoenix then, and it's Phoenix now. Storm, you know what you gotta do!
