OK, this is merely a "what if" couple of scenarios that COULD go down once the lockout is over.
We send D.Jones & Rush to Minny for Beasley and then send Beasley to Washington for Andray Blatche. A 24 yr old 6-11, 260lb who avgs 16pts and 8 rb's 5.9 mil yr for the next 4 yrs. Is he toxic? Trouble on/off court issues? I Havent heard much of anything about him but I was thumbing through the players list and saw that Wash is gaining Vesley and would look at Beasley as a potential BIG scorer...Some of you might want to keep Beasley as he would be a big option alongside with Danny and Roy...But he simply just sucks at defense, unless the defense ferry shows up to make him a better or even an avg defensive guy. If Washington wouldnt move on this than the Lakers may be interested to take Beasley and send Lamar Odem which I personally don't see that happening, but it could also work with the Hawks sending Josh Smith to us for Beasley, but thats too risky as Josh Smith would bail on us like Peja did in that dreadful Artest trade a few yrs back. J-Smooth wants to play with his old pal Dwight in Orlando or a few other temas besides the Pacers.
Another scenario: Steal Thaddeus Young away from Philly. He would be an immediate option backing up Danny and an option ALSO behind Tyler. He is a tuff kid. A combo forward, extremely atheletic. At only 23, 6-8, 230lbs, a long wing span and pure grit. I like this scenario because given Tyler's history he always improves and I can see him avg 13-15pts with 6-8 rb's..This still gives Tyler aprox 28-30 mins as long as its not a defensive liability. With this addition, we will then need to try and trade Rush and/or D'Jones to Sac for Jason Thompson who could be a HUGE back up to Roy and at the power forward. Our line up would then be as follows:
PG...Darren, SG...Hill, SF...Danny, PF...Tyler, C....Roy with back ups being Lance, Paul G, Young, Thompson and sign Foster and McRoberts as extra bodies at the 4 & 5.
I don't see us signing David West mainly because of his age and knee issue as guys don't have that quickness/strngth as before a horrible injury like he had. Jeff Greene would be a good fit like Young but has had some inconsistency to sign for more than 5.5 mil which Boston is prepared to match any offer for him. Landry???? No thanks, we have Tyler. A Milsap trade would be ideal, but they will want our core players for him and from the mouth of Larry "That aint gonna happen" Samuel Dalembert was up on my list during the trade deadline last season, but not now as he may be the big man in Miami or New York for 12 mil.
The above line up looks good..Atheletic...Shot Blocking, Scoring near 100-15 per game..Descent Defense to hold opponents under 100, NOT AWESOME defense, but good enough....Hard workers who does the small stuff to win and flexible players such as combo guards, combo forwards and bigs to play the 4 and the 5.
