NBA Draft OpenThread: And With The 15th Pick The Indiana Pacers Select...

The Indiana Pacers remain on the board with the 15th pick in the NBA Draft set to begin at 7:30PM.

Prior to the draft we've already had a some news to digest. For starters, there are reports of a large 3-way deal between the Charlotte Bobcats, Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings which has deliciously brought together Stephen Jackson and Scott Skiles among several other moving parts.

More importantly for the Pacers, Mike Wells tweets that former Lakers assistant, Brian Shaw has agreed to join the Pacers as an associate head coach. So now all the Pacers need is an actual head coach. See you soon, Frank.

Continue sharing your thoughts in the comments as the draft progresses to the Pacers pick.

and when he tested out better than expected people started overrating him horribly.

but does Klay Thompson seem like a Dunleavy clone or what? Don’t get the hype

But no, he doesn’t really pass like Dunleavy. Strictly a shooter IMO

Because Minnesota is so far behind everyone else that the team trading up is going to fit Williams in perfectly.

by Nathan S. on Jun 23, 2011 7:13 PM EDT up reply actions

Honestly

I don’t hate that trade for Minny. They need a two guard and talent. You’re talking about a team that finished with a worse record than a team that lost 26 straight games.

But drafting Williams means they’ll have to move Beasley and/or Randolph, who aren’t going to land you a player as good as Ellis, even if he doesn’t help you win.

Rule #1 in 2011.

When the Spurs call about the guy you just drafted….the Spurs that drafted Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Dejuan Blair, and George Hill (pretty good value where he was drafted)…you hang up the phone and keep the guy. Do you question what SA has done?

When it’s all said and done, the Spurs had another good draft and in all likelihood the Pacers just moved laterally. Loosing some of our solid vets. I don’t see us surpassing what we did last year and we gave up a quality young guy with potential to be a great compliment to George if he develops his offense.
