Espn Insider Pacer Draft Rumor

Pacers in mix for No. 2 pick?

3:00PM ET

UPDATE: According to Sam Amico of Fox Sports, the Pacers are making a "serious play" for the No. 2 pick.

"Danny Granger is being mentioned," he tweeted. "So are Ricky Rubio and Michael Beasley."

Alex Kennedy of HOOPSWORLD adds this: "The Timberwolves are shopping the No. 2 pick, but it sounds like they're asking for a lot in return. Minnesota feels that they have enough youth on their roster. They want a meaningful player back."

Granger has been listed as a possible trade chip for the Pacers, so his inclusion makes some sense. But Beasley wouldn't seem to be a culture fit for Indiana.

It's possible the Pacers could select Enes Kanter with the No. 2 pick, as an oft listed need of the team is an upgrade at power forward -- though Tyler Hansbrough came on a bit towards the end of the season.

Arizona forward Derrick Williams will most likely be the No. 2 pick in the 2011 NBA draft. However, he may not end up with the Minnesota Timberwolves if he's picked in that slot.

ESPN.com's Chad Ford writes: "I'm already hearing from sources that Minnesota has told people it's very open to moving the second pick. David Kahn really wants to add some veteran help to the team."

Ford lists Enes Kanter and Bismack Biyombo as other potential targets for Kahn if he keeps the pick.
