I know this is not the first time I made a fan post about DeAndre Jordan, but I personally am very intrigued by this guy's raw talent. Now, DeAndre is labeled as a center, but I dont think that matters all that much since Roy hibbert plays out on the high post so often, DeAndre could be a defensive power forward. DeAndre is a 6' 11' athletic big that plays above the rim, runs the floor, rebounds at a tremendous rate and converts over 66% of his shots, let me repeat that over 66%!!! Now the best part about DeAndre is that he is a free agent this year. This guy will be perfect for the Pacers. First, he will not break the bank with his contract. second, his tenecious efforts on the glass will give Pacers the rebounds that they are desperately needing, not to mention his ability for bocking shots. Third, DeAndre has a reputation to be a good team mate and a good team player who can always be counted on for hustles and effort. Now, many, many folks on IC have been raving about having a Dale Davis type player. well, Gentlemen, I give you DeAndre jordan, he is really in essence a 'Davis Boy' in terms of body and style of play!
Now, DeAndre does have much to improve on in terms of footwork and body control as he needs to improve both his foul tendencies and offensive repetoir. However, I think these elements can be overlooked, since we are looking for a rebounding and defensive minded power forward. Though, I will say his foul rates have improve over the course of last season. And its been reported that he will be working with Olajuwan this summer to improve his offense. DeAndre could fill our backup center position or be our future power forward, we got to make a run at him especially considering all the other options or lack of available this summer. DeAndre is just 22 and will not hinder our youth movement.
