What's your ideal first-game outcome?
With one big caveat - playing the Bulls at home with the crowd all fired up, they're probably going to win. So assuming we lose, how would you prefer to have it?
I'm not going to be able to watch the game so I was pondering what I would hope to see on my blackberry when I check the score/stats. My first thought was a close game we barely lose, but then I thought that might wake up the Bulls to the potential of losing and they would turn it up a notch the rest of the series. At the same time, a blowout can't be good. So I'm hoping for (if we lose) one of those games where we keep it close, in the 5-10 point range, most of the game and just can't get over the hump and lose by 12 (after late game FT's). That way, our team will know we have a chance but the Bulls have the opportunity to get cocky and think they can win by double digits without a problem.
So - what's everyone hoping for? What do you want to see from individual players? Which stats are going to be important indicators? Any chance we don't get swept?

Keep it under double-digits
Expose any flaws the Bulls have. Practice jumpers, because at this point its too late for the Pacers to change their identity. Pray we knock them down in game two so we can have a chance at stealing one in Chicago. Pray the refs aren’t ready to write Hibbert and Hansbrough off right after the opening tip-off. This is a very physical team, which works to their advantage at home against teams that drive the lane. But we don’t. Knocking down jump shots and playing solid defense will frustrate them, and maybe cause them to foul more. But any momentum this Bulls team has now can be tamed with a close, exciting game 1. But a blow-out, or even a 12-15 point loss that was closer than it seemed, and the Pacers’ confidence could be wrecked.

Wrecked confidence out of game 1 is my biggest concern

Obviously we all prefer a Pacers win, but given reality, what do you prefer?
"If you don't [draft me], I promise you I'll come back and kick your ass for the next 15 years."
Fair play, i didn't see that. . .
I still maintain we should go into these games with some completely unfounded optimism, otherwise we are just waiting to lose!

obviously...
Everyone wants the Pacers to win but honestly, I think this will be a sweep. Best case scenario, the Pacers have a chance to win 2 games….game 1 in Chicago and game 3 in indiana. other than that, it’s all Bulls…..just way too much Derrick Rose!

I have a hard time seeing them winning game 1
If they do, they could win the series. That’s how unlikely I think it is that they take game 1.

Big games from our young core
I don’t think the series will be determined by game 1, regardless of what happens (blowout loss, close loss, or close win – no chance we blow them out game 1). Chicago is the far superior team, and they should beat Indy in 5 games. The Pacers can get 1 home win against Chicago.
I am most excited to see growth from our young players. This is a big step toward the future in getting some playoff experience. They need to learn how to win when games matter. They also need to know how to lose and what to take from a series so they have something to work on for the following season.
I’d love to see Hansbrough average 15 and 10 throughout the series as a starter. He’ll be matched up against two of the best bigs in the east (Boozer and Noah), so it’s a great indicator of his development this season.
George needs to step up to prove he can be counted on to make big shots. He’s shown the skills, and any production from him will be a bonus.
DG needs to be more consistent with the ball. Make smart decisions shooting and passing. Be a leader on the floor, and don’t take too many risks on defense.
Hibbert is the wild card. If his game is on, the Pacers should do well. If he struggles, the Pacers will have a difficult time establishing any sort of post game. Anything over 12 points and 9 rebounds throughout the series is icing.

Should have proofread...
*DC needs to be more consistent with the ball. Wrong abbreviation. But, I guess a lot of the same can be said for Granger.

I don't care about waking up the Bulls if they aren't ready
I want a game as close as can be. If we get beat I want the Bulls to have to really battle for it.
I want to be able to say, “See, this team is a playoff team, despite this loss.”
I want Roy to average a double double over the length of the series and I want to see the team play with no fear at least after the initial game.
Yes they have a chance to win a game, MAYBE two.

Best case scenario
Derrick Rose’s legs fall off towards the end of the game and while attempting to help their teammate both Noah and Boozer throw out their backs trying to pick his legs up for him.
We then take the next 4 games against the Chicago Loul Dengs
