Atlanta Hawks Sign Magnum Rolle
Congratulations are in order to Magnum Rolle, who will get to experience his NBA dream, having been signed by Atlanta to help them with their playoff run.
Rolle was a fan favorite for the Pacers this past summer, exemplifying Indiana's three-P philosophy (Pride, Passion, Pacers), but was a victim of circumstance when he was unable to make the 15-man roster. He missed part of the year with a knee injury after being drafted by the D-League's Maine Red Claws, but will now get his much deserved call-up to the NBA.
Best wishes to Magnum as a member of the Hawks!

Very happy for Magnum,
but this one stings a bit.

agreed
if he was a good enough player for atlanta to sign for the playoffs, i’m sure we could have spared one roster spot for him. (cough) SOLO (cough)
Harper's on Miller, McKey, gets in to Miller for the win and...
Hail to the Orange.
Hail to the Blue.
Hail Alma Mater,
Ever so true.

he's not
Don’t know if he’s eligible for the playoffs. Even if he is he won’t play.
I don't know what to do. At all.
Yup
If he is eligible, he’s a foul body at best. Still, signing him over Solo was still too big of a risk, even though the front court health held up.
Now if we’re saying “I’m sure we could have spared one roster spot for him. (cough) LANCE (cough)” …yeah. Probably. But it still would’ve played out the same, I think. Lance simply had too much going for him that Magnum didn’t.
Hope he makes an impression.
Even though he won’t be playing much, if at all.

Would you consider?
Trading our 1st round pick this year to Alanta to retrieve him? I believe he is Pacer material and we really have nothing to gain in this year’s draft do we?
Hindsight...
Sure Lance has incredible talent, but to date that hasn’t made a significant contribution to even one win this season. I think that Rolle would have at least scratched out a few minutes this year, especially in the Vogel portion of the season. Add in the fact that Lance is Ron Artest 2.0 and it is evident that we cut the wrong player.
Magnum is probably as good or better than any big man that we are projected to be able to draft this year. No I wouldn’t trade the pick for him, but as Abe said this one stings.
having magnum on the team instead of lance
would not have made any difference in how this team performed, at least record-wise. but if you consider the different levels of talent and potential the two have, it’s pretty reasonable that you want to keep the guy who can end up being a significant contributor down the line. having said that, i wish the pacers could have kept both

It's official
Magnum Rolle has surpassed Jarrett Jack as the most overrated former Pacer
I don't know what to do. At all.
